And planning to build with Marksman Homes. I had heard good reviews about them earlier. And so far have only heard one bad review about them. But you cant make everyone happy, so i guess it all boils down to how things happen to you. (also we didnt have many options on builders as we are on a sloping plot and not many builders could build on our plot) But one of the reviews i heard was from a very paranoid and extremely observant and worried about details person. So i thought it will be good then. As far as to how long for design approval and all, it varies from builder to builder. I can tell you how it is going for us. We have decided on our design and currently in talks with Marksman homes to get the contract drawn up. We decided to get all this done before the land registration is done, so we could start build almost straight away. So check with each builder to get the exact time periods needed! Hope this was helpful.. Good luck with the hunt. Angel-2 Hello.. Lucky to have found this forum. We have Bought a block in stage 2a. It's our first home.. Very excited.. Can't wait for the land to register. Can anyone tel me the how long does It take for the design approval and stuff once The land gets registered? We are still looking at different builders. Anyone building with Marksman homes? All suggestions regarding builders will be highly appreciated. Yes it does vary a lot from builder to builder. McDonald Jones really dragged things out between registration and actually starting building. Best bit was they then expect to charge for the tender extension payments and did not want to take into account any of their own delays. What also helps is if your builder submits your plans for approval by LL before the land is registered. To do this they will just use the proposed contours from LL's plans and LL can then approve your design, subject to an actual contour survey being taken after registration. It's a good way to shave atleast 2 weeks of wait time if your builder is on the ball. MJH refused to do this and then lo and behold after registration I got slapped with a costly variation for a drop edge beams and an increased driveway cost. Even though the contour of the land was pretty much spot onto LL's original plans!! From what I've heard, the registrations will be on time. Soon to be confirmed by LL; 2A pushed back to August 2017 2B pushed back to 'Late 2017' irmed Re: Building in Calderwood Valley 87Jan 24, 2017 9:36 am We got a letter from Lend Lease saying it is delayed to late 2017. Delay in some approval from Council for Stag 2B Re: Building in Calderwood Valley 88Dec 07, 2017 7:21 am I thought I would pop into this thread as not much has been happening in it. I am in 2A.1 stage and as we all know it has been delayed again. What stages are everyone in. I expect you are all in the Facebook Group for Calderwood Valley Residents. Would be good to find out who our neighbors are. I am in Mountain Ash Street Lot 2085. I am will be building a single level home with Masterton. It has been 2 years since I started the process with them so I am anxious to get moving on it. Fingers crossed they sort these delays out soon so we can start.
