I guess regrets and doubt always creep in if you have to wait so long for things to get started. Re your regrets, the front doors could easily be changed down the line, if you really are set on changing them. Are you planning on adding security doors later? If so you'd just be hiding the lovely doors behind them anyway! I'd be surprised if it was a massive job for a sparky to add a power point to your island bench afterwards, the problem is laying the electricity TO the island and that you already have Looking forward to following the rest of your build! Hi Malsannie! Thanks, I know right.. I always feel like you have this picture on your head.. I just hope that it turns out like that! Haha! I love our tile selections because we got the help of an interior student who worked at crosbys in Ozzy park! And she drew us pictures of what it would look like and everything! I was ever so grateful cos I'm pretty sure she spent loads more time than she should've but it was our 4th time visiting and we still hadn't made our choice! What were your selections Malsannie? Do you have a thread here in h1? Yerh that's the thing.. Maybe in the future I would put security doors.. So that made me sort of feel not that bad for going for those gorgeous doors! I just feel like I needed to let my feelings out about things that people are probably umming and arghing about so that they don't make the same mistakes! Yerh if it really bothered me I think I would put dgpo underneath the waterfall edges.. But I think it's liveable for now haha! So nothing much happened last week.. But we finally have BRICKS sitting on our slab I called our site supervisor to ask when bricks are going to be started and he had an estimate of mid this week, Thursday! Kinda devo cos I'm just such an impatient person lols! and also weather is pretty gloomy today and I'm like jeez what would it be like the rest of this week?!? But he assured us that once it's started, 22 weeks including PCI and it'll be done.. Watch this space! I'll post a picture when I get home as I don't have the picture with me! Thanks, Issy Building: The Maxum Builder: New Generation Homes Estate: Springtime Estate, Xavier ____________________________ Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73924 Re: IssyandOzzy's New Generation Build - Brickies and MOREEE 84May 08, 2015 2:21 pm Morning Everybody! TGIF! Especially when you have 4 days off Okay so I promised pictures of when our bricks were delivered, one week late LOL! Apologies! so here it is.. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Okay so this week I have some negatives and some positives! Ill start with the negatives as I like to end on a positive note NEGATIVE My hubby and I finally put our deposits down on our flooring on Monday! Carpets through Carpet Court and Tiles through Q.A Tiles.. Unfortunately, the tiles we wanted have been discontinued So now we have to go tile shopping again! It makes me so frustrated as it took us forever to find tiles (and I mean weeks and weeks of searching) and now we have to do that again Hubby is displeased as he hates going tile shopping with me and felt so much relieved when it was over the first time haha! We best get on with it cos theres not much we can do now.. POSITIVES 1. We've paid off our led lights! It cost us close to 1k for about 22 lights altogether from Beacon Lighting! So thankful that we have a close friend who gave us discount! She told us to pick it up when we've had handover as warranty starts when you pick them up! 2. We got told that bricks were starting Thursday this week, but when hubby went to visit Tuesday he could not believe what he saw! Brickies laying our bricks!!! Tuesday Night! Had to see it after work! LOL! Couldnt wait! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ From the front on Wednesday.. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Beds 1, Theatre, 2, 3, and 4.. So now that its started.. 22 weeks from now we'll be in our new home Well apparently anyways.. the 22 weeks will include PCI on 21st week and 7 days to correct things we're unhappy about.. We're looking at the end of September for "Handover" and I think I need to put in about 2 weeks for paint, light fixtures and floorings to be done?! What do you guys think? I know its far away but I feel like its best to be organised! I've even become super nerdy and wrote up a list of things that we'll need the removalist to move from our rental to the new house Also I'm looking for a good tiler to do our tiles. I've got recommended one from a friend, but I wasn't quite impressed with their tiles when I saw their new house! Saw a bit of gap here and there.. Of course the cheaper the better but quality is the utmost importance.. I'm willing to spend around $65 sqm for tiling including labour, grout, screeding etc. Does that sound reasonable? Thats all the news I have for now, hope you've enjoyed my share and pictures I'll see if I can upload more pictures on the weekend x Building: The Maxum Builder: New Generation Homes Estate: Springtime Estate, Xavier ____________________________ Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=73924 Re: IssyandOzzy's New Generation Build - Brickies and MOREEE 85May 08, 2015 2:58 pm Just found your thread, so glad I'll be able to watch your home come along! H 87May 10, 2015 12:40 am Hey guys! As some of you know, the tiles we wanted got discontinued.. So I went to a tile shop called tiles boutique in Ozzy park.. The first time we went there (on their first day opening) I was like omg it's super expensive.. We were looking for good quality China grade with max $45 sqm.. But the tiles that we wanted.. Still China grade and is exactly what we wanted but at $49.5 sqm.. I don't know whether it's worth it.. Is it expensive do you think? For China grade? She also has numbers of 'reputable' tilers but they were quite expensive, imo anyway.. One of them was $45 sqm, no glue and extra $25 sqm for screeding.. Glue will be provided by tile supplier but not included with tile prices, and she wanted us to use flexi glue? Saying it's better glue for the tiles.. Are these numbers ridiculous? Anybody have any advice? Cos I'm going back on Monday to negotiate.. The last couple of months I got recommended tilers but I wasn't impressed with their job.. What do I do?!? My budget is about 12k for tiles and tiler altogether.. But to be honest I've gone to so many stores that I can't even remember lols.. I feel like giving up and just going with tile boutique as I feel like she gets our budget and is trying to help us reach our goal! H 91May 10, 2015 6:45 pm tsmith oh also we went to choices flooring in myaree for our carpets and bamboo, they were quite reasonable... It's so weird cos I went there too in Rockingham and I found that shop to be quite expensive for the quality.. I got sdn way cheaper from carpet court than choice flooring.. Its mid range and less than 4k and in choice it was mid range and gonna cost me close to 5k.. It's good you found something there though tsmith.. So happy with our choices and prices, and she also managed to get us a good price with the tiler too All together we've managed to stay within budget as well as save about $800 more! Here's a picture of the paint we've picked with grout and kitchen cabinets and stone! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Should I say TGIM? hehe.
