I hope things move quickly for you! BADH - A slab!! How awesome. On average, how long after colours did you get to book for your electicals? It's been two weeks since we did our colours and our CSC hasn't been able to tell us when or how we'll be contacted about booking our electrical appointment! R Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 83Sep 06, 2009 8:03 am Lizzy we did our final colours on 2 June (we had to go in twice because our tiles were finalised before our first colours appointment) and our electricals on 30 June - so 4 weeks. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 84Sep 06, 2009 10:16 am Hi Everyone, We are on the old system. Everything is done bar the signing of the contract. We got our contracts now and it is all up to us now. But before signing I have been going through it to understand as much as I can. For those who have signed already , Did anyone actually send their contracts to a solicitor to have a once over? Anything to look out for on the contract? Santorini Grande Executive Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 85Sep 06, 2009 10:27 am Hi EmoH I have had my solicitor involved now for a few months after the run around that we have been given so far. Our solicitor did go over the contact and stated that the large contact is an industry standard building contract, they also went over the Masterton contract that is in adition to the large one. There are a few things in it that are all one way but they will not change anything. I had questions regarding the build time as ours stated 40 weeks not the 36 we were told but they have said due to the changes we have made to the home they need to give themselves more time. I also wanted to have my own penalty clause in the contact but they wanted nothing to do with it. Like i said it is very one way but you cant change a thing on it. We only had four days to sign it as our tender ran out four days after recieving it so its not like we had time to argue. Funny that. Nathan Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 86Sep 06, 2009 5:32 pm Lizzy,The electrical lady rang us about a week after colour selection. So maybe it depends how busy they are. We should be out of council next week, fingers crossed!! Then hopefully we will get our contracts before our tender runs out. I gave it to the solicitors to have a look, just waiting on feedback. But looks pretty standard, my build time however is 8 weeks shorter than yours and mine is a 2 storey is yours? Due to this we have been told they need to give themseles more time. I hope they don't pull the same excuse on me that they have on you... i still can't get over the fact that it takes them 180 days just to start building from the time of accepting tender! Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 92Sep 07, 2009 8:36 pm Cool..that will be a big house. Villina was one of our choices but decided against it due to the fact there is only 1 narrow entry to the back of the house. The upside is the upstairs is huge. The eletrical lady told me every 2nd house is a Villina. so it is very popular one!. Did you have to pay the extra money before they would approve it. Hopefully you don't have to wait too long for the contracts and then they can start building. We had no action at the block today as it was very wet. I knew the drought would break as soon as we started building. Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 94Sep 07, 2009 11:44 pm Congratulations kkatt!! We were due to be out by the end of last week but haven't heard yet. Must chase up the council tomorrow to find out how we're going. Forecast for tomorrow is fine R&R, so let's hope they get moving! Masterton will do this as well but they managed to overlook that we weren't allowed the lighter roof colour - something I picked up and brought to their attention! Our pre constuction coordinater (did you have one of those?) is sending us the DA today so it will probably have all the details about the section 94 we have to pay in there Re: Masterton Homes - The new thread 99Sep 09, 2009 3:47 pm Just an update with regards with our progress. Nothing is happening after three weeks since we have requested for a final tender and drawing plans to be corrected. Our CSC told us today that maybe we can have the result next week which gives us another two weeks to sign the contract and to meet the FHOG deadline. Oh! Not to mention that if masterton manage to resolves all the issues with our tender and plans. Its very frustrating not to meet the FHOG requirements due Masterton's mistakes and inefficieny to deliver their services. I know ours is nothing compared with others experience but they it's totally not acceptable. Although not quite under the same time pressure, I can't believe we can't even get anyone to talk to us about electricals! I'm happy for them to have so much business because hopefully it means there's no risk of them going under like some of the other builders, but when it means that you're so busy you can't even provide the service that your customers have paid for... well... methinks there's a flaw in that plan.
