You're not kidding em. We will keep on pushing for at least half decent workmanship. There's tolerance, and then there's bloody ridiculous!! Thanks heaps!

I agree with the amount of money we spend to build we shouldn't have to compromise at this stage. You're not kidding em. We will keep on pushing for at least half decent workmanship. There's tolerance, and then there's bloody ridiculous!! Thanks heaps! Re: Summit build in the South West - Tiling nearly done pics 722Nov 03, 2014 8:31 am So good to see it at this stage!! The finished bathroom will be lovely! I really like the "frame" of the tiling around the mirror area too Re: Summit build in the South West - Smexy Rangehood!! 723Nov 03, 2014 9:31 am Rache Ha ha!! The ridge capping is the lengths of tin that are riveted at the joins between the sheets of tin if that makes sense. You can really see the buckled bits in the length along the top roofline. Should be smoothish and straight, not stand out like a dogs knob! ( New terminology c/o triggy!) We are not yet convinced that the alpacas are up to the task- they are on trial!! I hear there is a potential market for alpaca meat if it doesn't work out!!! Just kidding!!!! No photos of taps as yet and I am making a list of fixits at present. The silly buggers didn't leave enough room between the cabinets and the bath for a tiled hob, but left too much room for sealant!! Now what I ask?!! It's a gap of about 16mm. Not happy and my poor tiler is scratching his head trying to work out how he's going to fix it. SS job first thing Monday I reckon. SO frustrating! Oh dear silly buggers indeed Good luck with the SS meeting today I can see what you refer to now, I wasn't sure whether it was the reflection of the sun 'shimmering' that made it look like that if that makes sense. I hope they'll fix it for you Re: Summit build in the South West - Tiling nearly done pics 724Nov 03, 2014 9:37 am The bathroom and ensuite is looking lovely Rache, I particularly like how the tile on the nib wall etc matches the cabinets in the ensuite - it'll look great when all grouted etc! Do you have light points on the sides of the mirror? What a great idea! Re: Summit build in the South West - Tiling nearly done pics 725Nov 03, 2014 7:37 pm Thanks Malsannie! The photos are quite deceiving as although the floor tile, cabinets and feature tile are all the same shade, they are all different textures- cabinets are horizontal wood grain, the feature tile is a raised noughts and crosses type pattern and the tile is mottled beiges and greys!! So wish I could capture it! And yes, I wanted a sexy bathroom with'ambience'...hehehe!!!! Hence the wall lights! :-):-) Re: Summit build in the South West - Tiling nearly done pics 726Nov 03, 2014 8:31 pm Love love love your bathrooms and laundry tiling viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Summit build in the South West - Tiling nearly done pics 727Nov 03, 2014 9:50 pm Your bathrooms are looking beautiful. Hope you had a wonderful day and the year is the best ever Re: Summit build in the South West - Tiling nearly done pics 739Nov 04, 2014 11:37 pm Aawww thanks melsie, kel, AKB and MalSannie! I did get spoilt and was rolling home last night after cake x2, lunch out, and the best sticky pork ribs with Jack Daniels bbq sauce you could ever eat + fried onion rings and beer battered chips for dinner!! There was salad but iI couldn't fit it in!!! Oh and a fruit tingle! OMG!!!
Now, I need some urgent advice from my expert H1 colour consultants. I have 2days to decide on the wall paint colours for the house!!! Aaargggghhh!!! I thought I had decided on surfmist for main walls but the painter was concerned it may be a bit green with my kitchen colours. I have since done full circle to my original choice(ha ha, funny that!!) which was white duck quarter strength. Joannek has it on her walls and it looks gorgeous, however she has a white kitchen. Given you all know my house colours as well as I do, I was wondering what you reckon- do you think it would work in both living areas and bathrooms? I would also like to use toffee fingers for a feature on our bedroom wall. I intend to have white bedroom furniture. All opinions would be great. :-) Re: Summit build in the South West - Tiling nearly done pics 740Nov 04, 2014 11:40 pm HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR YESTERDAY RACHE (november babies are the BEST)!!!
