I need to pop over to your thread and have a gander. We used an independent guy. We're trying to remember his name! Lol. He was great though, he came in the rain, put fertilizer down, then the truck came with the lawn and he layed it himself. I think he was here for all of an hour and a half! Our lawn is Dwarf Kiyuku. We wanted something that was going to be really resilient and stayed green all year round. Sorry to hear about your vinyl.....what has happened to it? It scratches SUPER easy! Which was something we definitely didn't want with having 2 hurricanes hanging around! Custom Sterling Adelaide Build 609Nov 08, 2016 4:15 am Oh how disappointing We had vinyl black and white 'marble' tiles in our old kitchen with two boisterous dogs. It held up pretty well ... Or maybe because I'm a 'dog person' I have lower standards/expectations (might not see scratches others would) Blue, you've got vinyl planks and a doggy. Are yours looking scratched? I wonder if certain colours or gloss level shows it more. I love what you've done with your decor Lambsie. You've created such a beautiful home for your beautiful family Re: Custom Sterling Adelaide Build 610Nov 08, 2016 9:35 pm Thanks ladies! We have had the rep out from nature plank and he gave us their floor cleaner and a mat to put by the sliding door to eliminate the dirt and stuff coming in. We never wear our shoes on it because of how easy it scratches. My eldest pushed a washing basket on it and it scratched! My expectations aren't enormously high, given that we do have 2 boys and the pooch inside. But 3-4 months of having it down and the amount of scratches is insane! Our planks have a satin finish and are quite textured. Re: Custom Sterling Adelaide Build 611Nov 10, 2016 8:18 pm That's disappointing CS. We installed the allure vinyl planks into our old house and I was worried about scratching too although we were lucky that any scratches actually washed off. - otherwise known as Kym - Re: Custom Sterling Adelaide Build 612Nov 11, 2016 10:00 pm Disappointing but good they sent a rep out. Re: Custom Sterling Adelaide Build 613Jan 02, 2017 4:17 pm Wow oh wow have We been slack! Lol we haven't really been able to do anything out the back yet. But 2017 is the year of the house! Lol home improvements here we come!! I did want to ask though, what does everyone recommend for a privacy screen? The Neighbour's can see into our backyard and then into our house when they climb onto their ******* water slide! It makes me nervous. I did want some dwarf citrus trees along the fence line here, but they're not going to create a good screen. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ the waterslide is behind the trampoline, you can just see the edge of it. Our dog goes off his rocker every time he sees them cleaning their pool! Re: Custom Sterling Adelaide Build 614Jan 03, 2017 7:13 am Nice big yard! I would spray the fence dark (so it recedes) and would use photinia, one of the "supers" we had super red in our last house $10 plants covered our whole fence and above in two years. Neighbour be gone is supposed to be good too (Lilly pilly think). Trees along rather than a hedge would be nice I love the look of lush tuckeroos (cupianopsis or something like that) which are evergreen you could plant these three metres apart and have a good screen. I wanted citrus also as a screen but after weighing up water fertiliser requirement and relatively slow growth I binned the idea. I think fruit trees are a good idea too we have a plum and apricot on our back fence planted this year and screen well but are deciduous so no cover for half the year..... Tell us how you go x Re: Custom Sterling Adelaide Build 615Jan 03, 2017 7:25 am Thanks blue! I'll have a look into those ones. I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 35089 6 57365 Soak wells and electrical run in happening this week! Summit has told me they will relocate the laundry plumbing after the walls are completed. I'm actually pretty happy… 13 36875 |
