Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 602Sep 07, 2015 12:31 pm Thanks for the info on your colours Cat. Newy is such a beautiful place. I do have a thread but I`m not too sure how to link it to my comments? I`m still only learning how to use this site. I don`t have too much happening on my thread yet anyway, just a block lol. I`m hoping that the plans come back from engineering this week, then contract signing time & its straight off to council after that. (fingers crossed) My Homeone Thread - Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 603Sep 07, 2015 12:49 pm They're solar hot water panels Shazaw. And you and me both about the tiles! I think the external colour scheme and the tile we picked are my most favourite parts of the build. Each time I go on site I question if we did the right floor plan, but hey, there's always next build! Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 605Sep 07, 2015 1:28 pm cat_dunc but hey, there's always next build! Maybe after we get this house built The school will be so convenient if we do have children. I think it`s been decided that we are going with Windspray for our roof. It was either Windspray or Shale Grey. Our bricks are going to be a mid brown, I hope it goes ok. Can I ask are your windows a white or surfmist? What colour are you doing poles out front. I'm looking at having wallaby roof, surfmist fascia/windows/garage and front door just hoping it looks white enough! Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 612Sep 17, 2015 2:59 pm Vivmak: Plumbing has been done, electrical rough in starts on Monday. Wall insulation goes in next week and plasterboard delivered next Thursday. It's unreal! The SS goes on holidays for two weeks at the end of next week so hopefully the trades he's booked come through and get things done while he's away. House and Horse: Thanks! Windows are some form of white. I dont think it's called surfmist though as we didn't have colourbond colour options for window frames. The fascia is surfmist though, and the roof & gutters are windspray. Garage door is surfmist when it arrives, with the render to be Shale Grey and weatherboards also surfmist colour-match. The front posts... I think are to be white? With Shale Grey render on the bricks. Our front door is Monument - for something different Wallaby and surfmist will look great together! Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 613Sep 19, 2015 4:01 am Gosh I've missed so much, it looks fantastic! Love your tile selections Build thread http://tinyurl.com/llgc7yk Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 614Sep 21, 2015 12:04 pm Our eaves are up and our electrical wiring is being installed today. I got a call from the electrician this morning clarifying a few heights of power points and he confirmed we're getting Cat 6 cabling (phew!). I'm happy! We're meeting the SS on site tomorrow morning to check it out and make sure it's all what we want before plasterboard starts. Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 616Sep 21, 2015 12:10 pm Looking great cat! Overall it's all excellent. I noticed they've given us a bonus power point and some type of data connection where all the data cables meet in the garage. (We decided not to get them to install the 'data hub' they offered). They also added a separate switch for the living room fan/light to separate it from the Meals light/fan. I wouldn't have chosen the location of the switch (opposite the kitchen next to the outdoor area) but oh well, we'll make do. Other to that the laundry washing machine taps have been installed too high, which explains why the electrician was confused about some power points to it. I had totally forgotten I'd seen they were wrong so will tell the SS tomorrow. I checked the drawings and they're dimensioned at 800, but the table below says they're to be 1250 which is what the plumbers did. Hopefully they don't object to moving them down for me. Re: Newcastle KDR (Sekisui) 618Sep 21, 2015 10:49 pm Eaves are done. Weather boards still aren't on but the site has been cleared. A crate and a half of bricks were left over and they've left them for us which is great.
