Thanks soo much, this is very similar for a quarter if the price!! http://www.ikea.com/aa/en/catalog/products/80113381/ Yes that's a good one, I often overlook Ikea, visited the store at the weekend and they have some cool kitchen things, much more reasonably priced than the builders. Getting wardrobe fit outs from there when the time comes. Re: Jem's custom build - our journey! Tap ware selections 64Sep 04, 2012 2:13 pm We're in a rural area with no Ikea (but I am sure I could talk a store into posting, or even one of my sisters into picking up) so didn't even cross my mind! So I think that's the kitchen mixer done, just the bathrooms to go.. I must be stressing about this as I dreamt of choosing tap ware last night lol Jem's Custom build - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58630 Re: Jem's custom build - our journey! Dreaming of Tapware .. 66Sep 08, 2012 9:36 pm Received news today that our plans have been finalised (all the amendments are finally complete!) YAY! So now we're just waiting on the building permit before we can finalise our finance and make a start on construction! oh and I also noticed that this week the builder has popped a sign up on our block, small milestone but still a milestone however small... Does the quality look ok? have you/would you ordered from the bathroom warehouse? http://www.bathroomwarehouse.com.au/tap ... n_set.html I think that's really lovely, it's simple and elegant. I would order it, is there a option to return if the quality was not good in the flesh so to speak? Re: Jem's custom build - our journey! Dreaming of Tapware .. 68Sep 10, 2012 10:15 am Hi Smarty, yes they except returns but their is a 20% re-shelving fee. If only I could see a sample before ordering Jem's Custom build - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58630 Re: Jem's custom build - our journey! Dreaming of Tapware .. 69Sep 11, 2012 5:21 pm Jem, I found another website with that tap and it looks like they have stores around Victoria, if one is close you could have a look. If none of those are any good, try google for the tap and other places will come up that may have a showroom close to you. http://www.bournebathrooms.com.au/bathr ... p-837.html Look on the contact page. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Jem's custom build - our journey! Dreaming of Tapware .. 70Sep 11, 2012 7:38 pm We had an Ikea Tap in a previous reno - Hubby said it was hard to get parts to fit. Ikea prob. carry parts though for their own range Re: Jem's custom build - our journey! Dreaming of Tapware .. 71Sep 12, 2012 8:44 pm Thanks Dreamcometrue, unfortunately all the stores are in Melbourne, 500kms away but i'llgoogle and see if I can find a store closer. Thanks for the tip Donna! Your right might be a little inconvenient for us being so far away from the actual stores. Dreaming of Tapware .. 72Sep 14, 2012 12:59 pm OK so we've had a small hiccup with our finance, everything is looking fine except we need a letter from Centre link to confirm what we are entitled to and apparently this will take them 5 weeks to process!!! You've got to be kidding me. 5 whole weeks to obtain a letter, what rubbish! Our finance broker has advised that he has a contact at Centre link so is going to see what he can do for us. Thank godness for that, he's been just wonderful! Jem's Custom build - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58630 Re: Jem's custom build - our journey! Dreaming of Tapware .. 73Sep 23, 2012 11:45 am Well after only 3 calls to centre link I've received an email stating there's an online letter ready to view online. Thank goodness it's only been A week instead of 5! Building permit is still in the process just waiting on owners warranty insurance which should be through early next week... Hopefully by the end of next week it will be all go, go, go! Looks like my dreams of being in before Christmas and before the baby arrivals (25 wks now, 15 to go) have turned sour though. oh well not much we can do about it. Dreaming of Tapware .. 74Sep 23, 2012 1:23 pm I am really looking forward to watching your dream come to life as I like the country-inspired homes and yours has some similar features to us (kitchen in particular). Even though ours has started, you may catch up as we have a 5-6 month build time. I dont expect ours to be finished before February but I am hoping late January. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Jem's custom build - our journey! Dreaming of Tapware .. 75Sep 27, 2012 5:46 pm Thanks Dream, I hope we can catch up to you as week Well I received my variation for our flooring today. We changed the flooring from timber to vinyl planking for two reasons - 1. Cost & 2. Durability. However the variation has come back with a saving of $700! So I went and got a quote for the exact same thing from the exact same store and for all our flooring they have quoted $10,995 but the builder is charging $15,125! That's a 27% mark up totaling $4130!! What's the go with that! Our only problem is we don't have a spare $10k laying around to pay for it so I've asked the builder to see if their regular supplier can supply for less... Cross your fingers and toes for us that either 1. we win the 30mil powerball tonight or 2. they come back with a cheaper variation! Re: Jem's custom build - our journey! Builders mark up - I a 76Sep 27, 2012 9:15 pm Bummer about the floors thats a bit unfair. I hope you can get a better price. What a pain Oooh I would be happy with 1% of that Powerball, Re: Jem's custom build - our journey! Builders mark up - I a 78Sep 28, 2012 4:18 pm Hi jemsaf, loving your house plan, really suits your big block and Dream and you seem to be trying to achieve a similar type of look to what I want. Must be the bigger blocks. We too are building on an acre and it seems we are having a similar style of kitchen and this thread has been so helpful as I found the kitchen tap to suit our kitchen. Looking forward to following and seeing it all come together. Tash Re: Jem's custom build - our journey! Builders mark up - I a 79Sep 28, 2012 9:16 pm Thanks Tash. Which tap did you go with? Beware of the price of the Nicolazzi.. lol Jem's Custom build - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58630 Re: Jem's custom build - our journey! Builders mark up - I a 80Sep 28, 2012 10:46 pm jemsaf Thanks Tash. Which tap did you go with? Beware of the price of the Nicolazzi.. lol Yes, I checked that one out too and nearly fell off my seat...no Nicolazzi for me. The one I have my heart set on is the georgian bastow one, it's really pretty will see if my budget agrees. Did see the ikea ones on the weekend and they were fantastic too, much better than I thought. Thanks for helping me out with my tap choice, can't wait for the day we can both get to show them off when we finally reach that stage. Any advice on how to ensure the kit home granny flat that im thinking of buying will get council approval. The kit home companys wont release plans without a deposit and… 0 7832 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 35072 6 57349 |
