Metricon has advised that we cannot have an internal door for our garage due to the fall of our land. They said if we want an internal door, we need to push the house back by 1-2m and extend the garage by 600mm. This will cost around 3k for site costs and garage extension.
We have signed a 'fixed site cost' contract for 22k but the consultant reckons that the garage issue site cost will not be covered. So does this mean fixed site cost it not really fixed? We are okay to pay for the garage extension but doubtful about the additional site cost.
I don't know much about building, but I would have thought that they would have factored in the cost for levelling the ground to a certain extent, and I cannot imagine how adding a door to garage would have such an impact on the way the house was designed to sit on your land. We have added a door as well, but our land is flat
