Browse Forums Building A New House Our Metricon Liberty 45 on the Northern Beaches, Sydney 421May 29, 2016 7:15 am Looking at the construction drawings, they are 715 all around except the front elevation (where the balcony is on the Verve facade) which is 600. We have 2700 ceilings on the ground floor and 2550 on the first floor. Our Metricon Liberty 45 on the Northern Beaches, Sydney 422May 29, 2016 9:18 am Thanks Vista. I understand why reducing the eaves would give move space in the rear to fit the windows (as the 450mm eaves wouldn't come down the sides as much). What I don't understand is why they have to reduce it in our instance given that there is a clear example here that for a Liberty 45 plan the eaves can be kept at 600mm/715mm and still be able to fit the full size rear windows Will try to get to the bottom of this with our helpful CSC. Also, could the windows be long slim vertical windows on the outer sides of the rooms where there's more space above the bottom story roof rather than high horizontal windows? Re: Our Metricon Liberty 45 on the Northern Beaches, Sydney 424May 29, 2016 6:21 pm Yeah, ceiling height of the first floor will make a difference, so will the angle of the roofline. It is possible to have vertical narrow windows but we preferred to just have 1 standard window for each bedroom Metricon Liberty 45 in Ryde NSW viewtopic.php?t=82846 Build thread: Metricon Liberty 45 in Ryde, NSW Re: Our Metricon Liberty 45 on the Northern Beaches, Sydney 425May 29, 2016 6:26 pm Got to say, we're getting s good amount of light into each bedroom, so it was worth the cost and hassle Quirmeball. Re: Our Metricon Liberty 45 on the Northern Beaches, Sydney 426May 29, 2016 7:06 pm Agree Vista, I think it makes good sense to have windows in the rear looking into the garden rather than neighbours' houses, and if your backyard is north/south facing, you will get good light all day round. I meant still having the windows at the rear of the house facing the garden, but one vertice window toward the outer wall in each room so it's above the lowest part of the bottom story roof. It may be a way to get a larger window if you can't get the windows you want. Did you have to increase the ceiling height of the first floor, reduce the slope of the ground floor roofline ? Also, are your eaves 600mm or 450mm? Thx. Looks very close to the colour we selected but can't be sure. Re: Our Metricon Liberty 45 on the Northern Beaches, Sydney 437May 30, 2016 6:46 pm The base render is usually a similar colour when they do the acrylic render (which must be used on hebel). The final coat is painted on but is usually something like Dulux Acrashield. Using my LG-G4 to bring you this update.
