How are your pups going and sorry I forgot to ask what their names are Re: My build in Bloomdale, Vic -Awaiting land title 44Jun 05, 2017 6:30 pm HENRY Congrats Melt. It won't be long now till you own a piece of dirt! How are your pups going and sorry I forgot to ask what their names are Should be within the next 14 days. Am considering camping out there once it's mine but it's a bit too cold at the moment haha. The dogs are Elvis (the dark brown one) and Evie this pic sums up how half my spare time is spent this days... the other half is watching them run around playing haha! By the sounds of things, settlement is on the 19th and cheques need to be passed on to him at the latest on the Saturday 17th and then it's all done- to be honest I was thinking land settlement would be a lot more exciting so feeling a little deflated now haha. I also forgot that land ownership would equal having rates and random water bills regardless of if you are living there. I should really go start a budget I think. Re: My build in Bloomdale, Vic -Land titled! Build to start 47Jun 16, 2017 8:22 pm Sooo settlement is 11.30 Monday morning- conveyancer rang me earlier this week to say they would confirm cheque amounts via email and that they needed the cheques by close of business today. All good but by lunchtime today I still hadn't heard back. Called them, stressed out for several hours, then finally got the email at 2pm- snuck out of work to go get the cheques raised (stood in the bank for 30 mins sweating and feeling spewy as!!) then snuck out of work early to get the cheques to the conveyancer. Sad to see my life savings disappear and go into big time debt for the first time, but I guess it will be worth it when I have a little house all of my own to move into. Builder advised they forecast the site start to happen 60 days after settlement, so I guess the countdown will begin on Monday! Do you have a start date yet? GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=83643 Hey Charlibear, my land settled on Monday haven't got an official start date yet but the builder said around 60 days after settlement it was forecast to start (its a smallish builder and they are building all four of the 'terrace homes' at the same time.) They did tell me neighbour they would start asap though so maybe they are just trying to get a 60 day break from me and my questions haha. Re: My build in Bloomdale, Vic -Land settled! 50Jun 25, 2017 7:40 am Congrats on your land settling!! It's such a great feeling to own your very own slice of the planet Hopefully you get your start date soon and don't have to wait 60 days!! Have you taken Evie and Elvis for a visit to their new stomping ground yet? It won't be long and you'll be visiting the block on a regular basis, checking the build out with them! GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=83643 Thanks Charli! Still waiting somewhat patiently for a start date, I'm not sure if I want to annoy the builder by contacting them to ask if permits have been applied for etc, it would be nice to know that something is happening with the process! HENRY Congratulations Melt on your land settlement. Have you taken Evie and Elvis for a visit to their new stomping ground yet? It won't be long and you'll be visiting the block on a regular basis, checking the build out with them! Thanks Henry nah I haven't taken the bubs out to the block- I'm out there 5 days a week for my classes which I can't take the dogs to (unfortunately!) so I don't really feel like driving 40 mins back out there to take the dogs for a visit haha. Sammy74 Congratulations so exciting.... Now a new waiting experience starts good luck with your build🦋 Thanks Sammy Re: My build in Bloomdale, Vic -Land settled! 54Jul 07, 2017 8:19 pm Sixty days! What are you going to do all that time Melt? I hope they start way before the sixty days! 🤞It might be time for some retail therapy in the mean time. My build in Bloomdale, Vic -Land settled! 55Jul 07, 2017 8:38 pm HENRY Sixty days! What are you going to do all that time Melt? I hope they start way before the sixty days! 🤞It might be time for some retail therapy in the mean time. Haha I think because they are a small builder who is pretty busy, and they are building these 4 terrace houses all at the same time, it takes a bit longer than the big volume builders. That's what I'm telling myself anyway retail therapy would be fun but at this stage I'm just putting aside money each week for furniture and stuff for the move, I reckon my parents would kick me out if I bought home more stuff to take up space before I move (I've already half packed my room, plus have a whole bunch of boxes of kitchen stuff I moved home with taking up a whole closet in the spare room. Haha) I called my sales dude today as I haven't annoyed him over the last few weeks- apparently my external colours have been approved by the developers (yay!) and next week they should get some plumbing report from the water authorities to tell them where they need to lay the plumbing on the block to connect to sewers etc, then hopefully by the end of next week they can apply for permits. Yay! Build is still forecast to start mid to late August- I'm doubting this will allow them to get it finished by Xmas but I'll be crossing my fingers that they can Re: My build in Bloomdale, Vic -Awaiting permits! 56Jul 27, 2017 6:49 pm I received an email today saying building permit had been approved! Estimated start date according to the insurance paperwork they sent is 2/8, but they advised my stuff has been passed on to the estimators and site start will occur once the job is finished with their estimators. Squeeeeeee!! Even if it doesn't get to site til end of Aug I'm happy. Unfortunately the insurance paperwork advised estimated completion date is March next year (build is 250 days including expected delays etc) which seems like an extremely long build for such a tiny house! But as long as it's built to a decent quality March is still better than living with my parents forever haha Yay! My build in Bloomdale, Vic -August start! 57Jul 30, 2017 3:16 pm Hey Melt. Yay! for building permit approval. Yay! for estimated start day. Boo! for estimated completion date. Congrats! Waiting and for having so much patience. Re: My build in Bloomdale, Vic -August start! 58Aug 04, 2017 12:33 pm HENRY Hey Melt. Yay! for building permit approval. Yay! for estimated start day. Boo! for estimated completion date. Congrats! Waiting and for having so much patience. Haha thanks Henry I got my first rates notice yesterday *grumbles* was not sure whether to cry or jump for joy haha. The reality of being a land owner has set in... My mum took my Nanna out to see my block this past week and there is now a footpath in the park opposite my block- hopefully they'll have the park completed by the time I move so it's a nicer view than a dirt pile with some random bits of grass Re: My build in Bloomdale, Vic -August start! 59Aug 04, 2017 6:14 pm I hear you on that one Melt! Wait until you get one with the house on it. Re: My build in Bloomdale, Vic -August start! 60Aug 15, 2017 8:13 pm Soooo it's mid August and nothing is happening on site yet. Builder told me when permits were approved that they expected to go to site late August, so hopefully not too much longer. I don't want to annoy them by asking if late August is still happening (me asking isn't going to hurry anything up!), so figured I'd come and have a whinge on here instead, haha! Seems like just yesterday I put the deposit down, (Dec16), but also feels like a looooong time ago and I'd really like it to start happening now! I spend about 4 hours a day commuting between work, my hobby after work, then home-travel time should be cut to about 90mins a day when I move so I'm really looking forward to that! I keep second guessing my colour selections, I don't actually know what the house is gonna look like or how big/small it will feel inside (there are no displays as I'm with a small builder)- I really do look forward to seeing it all together and am hoping it's not going to be a squishy little un-colour co-ordinated place!! yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 5956 Your house should come in "as new" condition.
