Felt a bit lame when the carpenter came around to fix some stuff on our frame but he declined the invite to join Here is some cutesy wootsey pictures: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Here are some of the latest snap shots of our house. Eventually, and realistically, we came down to two choices of home. Funnily enough by the same builder - they must be doing something right. That and the sales rep offered us a beer and a lollipop from his finest selection out of the jar on his desk. Buying a house makes us grown ups, right? /quote] It was the Beer that would sway many a good Aussies........just caught up with your journey, looks like things are flying along now and hope them damn ghastly variations are far and few between. Good for you guys to make them negotiate, how these things arise down the track always makes me wonder if the Engineering guys did their job right in the first place. Good for you guys to make them negotiate, how these things arise down the track always makes me wonder if the Engineering guys did their job right in the first place. PS Nice move with Valentines Day, once in a lifetime opportunity you will forever remember Thanks Miss Mia! We thought the variations were behind us and they found another one to send recently with more electrical cabling required. I raised the point with the builder that they have to realise how things look to a customer. All of a sudden, these "extras" come out of nowhere but they've already done the work and designed the plans and ordered the products. Crazy huh! RagnarsWife love your picnic idea and especially sweethearts so romantic!!! soon you guys can enjoy privacy of your own home cheers! Spot on RagnarsWife. The privacy of our own home is something that we are really keen to have. It was highlighted when the carpenter rocked up while we had our picnic on valentines day and made us realise that we are getting close to that. I know everyone goes through it in life but it's just such an important big step isn't it?? Gristy cant believe i missed your thread before, looks good wont be long till bricks are up now!. hope we get started soon, just waiting on demolition right now Cheers man! I just found pugs too! It's like a valhalla reunion!! I'm sure I don't need to tell you but things will fly once you have the plans and approvals out of the way. The legal red tape and signatures always take ages but we've found so far from there it all just flies! Thanks for posting man Davelle Hahaha love the valentines picnic on the slab, how cute frame is looking great!! bet it will be all bricked up in no time! how exciting Things have come along nicely since our last chat hey Davelle. We've just had a copy of our building contract etc through now to sort out so at least we've done something, next is selections Siteworks 8/11 Slabbed 19/11 Our Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65703 Re: The Lyndhurst by Sterling Homes in Adelaide - FRAME UP!! 52Feb 17, 2013 6:57 pm oh wow so it's still quite a while away! Awkward!!! I thought it was sooner than that, sorry for dredging up that emotion/frustration of the wait At least it gives you a lot of time to really make sure you are happy with what the build will include. We hated how long we had to wait but it gave us ample time to check things over which now in hindsight we are thankful for. I love oyster brick colour...that's the colour that I wanted (so I'll be watching with envy ) full steam ahead now...you'll have a roof, bricks and gyprock before you know it Re: The Lyndhurst by Sterling Homes in Adelaide - FRAME UP!! 58Feb 19, 2013 7:00 pm Taylor22 Hi kaykens, Congratulations on your frames and I love that valentines day picnic...how cute!!! I love oyster brick colour...that's the colour that I wanted (so I'll be watching with envy ) full steam ahead now...you'll have a roof, bricks and gyprock before you know it Thanks for stopping by Taylor22 and for your nice words We're still nervous about the brick colour to be honest. They look different on the pallet than they do on the display wall (we were expecting variation) but it always makes you second guess yourself hey...How did you find it with your bricks? were they more or less what you expected? We're quite scared it will look horrible With any luck by the end of the week the roof will be on and bricks started. We've found a discrepancy with some of the plumbing not being how we requested it so that will be changed soon too but shouldn't delay the build at this stage anyway. So to be honest I didn't really get a choice...lol. When I was at our colour appointment and was putting it all together I had the oyster bricks and he had the canyon bricks...and I hate to say it but the canyon bricks looked better with our other choice so we went with them. I think they look ok, but im not 100% convinced yet. I totally get what you mean though about second guessing yourself and your choices - I think everyone goes through it. I've second guess everything. Your colours all look great though, you shouldn't be worried Re: The Lyndhurst by Sterling Homes in Adelaide - FRAME UP!! 60Feb 20, 2013 10:06 am Taylor22 There is a bit of a story with our bricks....We were lucky enough to see our bricks on one of the simonds display homes in Blakeview and before we even seen any other brick colours my fiancé said were having those bricks!!! We saw it and just knew it would work with our selections. That's the main thing really. I don't think there is a good or bad brick, it's what works best with what you have chosen for your house that makes it 'perfect' I appreciate the reassurance. It's almost losing sleep worthy at this stage but hopefully the bricks will be up in a few days and we can get peace of mind on the colours in just a few more sleeps!!!
