We are up to the stage of signing off on the estimate. We have had our Electrical consultation and signed off on that. All good. Last weekend we had our Colour consult and were to sign off on that by today (5 days since consult). We actually sent the sign off back. But just at the very last minute today I have finally admitted I don't like our roof (chose tiles, would like colorbond) and I don't like the colour of the garage door/fascia etc. Is it too late to change? Are we locked in? We have not yet signed the Builders Contract. At what stage is it too late to change things like this without it being one of those changes/variations that costs you an arm and a leg? Very grateful in advance guys. Re: Building with Metricon 3342Jul 22, 2016 5:46 pm I think you should be ok to change it, it's not structural. I changed a few of my colours on the day I went in to sign final contract! Not too late, better to do it now then later I'm still making changes and I signed final January I must admit we've been very lucky to avoid the 2k fee Re: Building with Metricon 3344Jul 22, 2016 7:04 pm Thanks for the answers guys:) I hope we are ok. Emz, when you say you signed final...do you mean the builders contract? We haven't signed that as yet. Just had the tender presentation and accepted that. When you say you avoided the 2K is that the charge for changes/variations made after you have signed the builders contract? Jeez...whole new world here:) I always thought I was good at making decisions - but no:) Re: Building with Metricon 3345Jul 22, 2016 10:56 pm steve1 Thanks for the answers guys:) I hope we are ok. Jeez...whole new world here:) I always thought I was good at making decisions - but no:) Steve sorry tender contract. They can charge you 2k from this point. They allow changes but if it's structural changes then they start charging. Hmmm let me count we've made 5 changes since. Final stage you can't make any changes at all. When bank valuations were due our broker requested our variations made and we had a total of 10 with 3 or 4 requests made Thank goodness they added everything to cost and I'm glad we avoided paying any fees. Building with Metricon 3346Jul 23, 2016 10:01 am kylz4 I believe your data points will return to a patch panel near your nbn. The sales people (even electrical lady) don't have a lot of understanding about how it works! We have about 20 data points so need to meet with cable guy soon to clarify everything! Kylz we have data points patched straight to our nbn panel in the garage. Both tvs are hard wired and the iPads, laptops and phones run of wifi from the modem hidden in the media room. Our nbn is super fast and works extremely well. We actually have a few data points we don't even use as the wifi is really good (to clarify I mean we have 4 iPads a laptop and 2 phones connect to wifi at one time and it doesn't crap it's self or go slow) Re: Building with Metricon 3348Jul 24, 2016 12:34 am Bulkhead can range from $600-1000 depends on complexity. Recess that size probably same amount as well. I would of loved to add that recessed into our hallway with the mirror but it's too late for us now. Btw, for such a recess M increases the wall depth to accommodate the recess. @Orph Build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Home Furniture: viewtopic.php?t=80551 Technology Hub: viewtopic.php?t=83663 Landscape Design: viewtopic.php?t=80645 Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Building with Metricon 3351Jul 24, 2016 12:44 am Emmz70 I copied from Metricon gallery, wondered what price we'll be looking at My CSC is going to hate us At least your making them work I forgot so many things and still want to change a few things but too late for me now.
