Our lounge below however will be in a grey colour, we ended up going with a slightly lighter grey carpet than originally shown so hopefully looks light and airy in our lounge Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Our first build with Fairmont Homes - Blakes Crossing So 282Jun 12, 2016 8:29 pm Our curtain inspiration below, we are having sheers with blockout behind in a wave top, colour is a pale grey with contrasting block out these will be at the alfresco doors, lounge, bedroom 1, and family room. We are having white timber look venetians at the kitchen window. Went to beacon today - so helpful, asking about led downlight colours, we are leaning towards the warm white but maybe cool white in the kitchen due to the white cupboards, not sure if that is a good idea but if anyone has any knowledge on this that would be great Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Our first build with Fairmont Homes - Blakes Crossing So 284Jun 13, 2016 5:29 pm heatherkam Well take two of the shopping was very successful, we managed to book in our carpet and ordered our lounge suite, the end of financial year sales are great! Re: Our first build with Fairmont Homes - Blakes Crossing So 287Jun 13, 2016 8:29 pm Was a little over budget but the one we were going to buy somewhere else didn't have a chaise ( a must have for me lol) and was 400 less and I couldn't justify the 600 they wanted to charge to add the chaise and extra arm rest so it worked out cheaper in the end and I'm very happy with locally made and 10 year warranty Our first build with Fairmont Homes - Blakes Crossing South 288Jun 13, 2016 9:06 pm heatherkam Was a little over budget but the one we were going to buy somewhere else didn't have a chaise ( a must have for me lol) and was 400 less and I couldn't justify the 600 they wanted to charge to add the chaise and extra arm rest so it worked out cheaper in the end and I'm very happy with locally made and 10 year warranty Absolutely, it's the comfiest lounge I've ever sat on! One day I'll have it. Come to think of it, if I ever get one in this house then it'll have to be a smaller version! Lol I honestly don't think it'll fit in the configuration it's in. Lol. A chaise is a must have for me too! We found a 2 seater and a 3+chaise in Amart that we like, so we'll probably get that. I also worry about my 2 tornados destroying it! Re: Our first build with Fairmont Homes - Blakes Crossing So 289Jun 13, 2016 10:30 pm They gave us the option to change the configuration but it was in the right shape for our lounge. We have two teenagers and a 4 year old , she Is pretty mild so I think we will be safe, our old lounge suite was from le cornu and lasted 5 years with two very active boys on it and in the end had so many rips in it I couldn't even sell it, they are out of the phase now thankfully so I feel fairly safe lol Re: Our first build with Fairmont Homes - Blakes Crossing So 290Jun 15, 2016 7:24 am heatherkam Went to beacon today - so helpful, asking about led downlight colours, we are leaning towards the warm white but maybe cool white in the kitchen due to the white cupboards, not sure if that is a good idea but if anyone has any knowledge on this that would be great Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hi Heather, Lounge, sheers etc look lovely! In regards to the lights, as A thinks I am paranoid (which I am) about my white (Gentle Beige cupboards) throwing yellow (which it apparently doesn't but I have apparently gone colour blind during this whole process he has decided to do cool white for all our downlights throughout our home (and there are many). Secretly I really like warm white cause it gives a warm cosy feeling but I can always change it if I don't like it. You should be fine with warm white in your white kitchen but I am no expert on that. We are doing some pendant lights which will have the old fashioned globes with the squiggly lines in it (emerson) I think they are called? which are warm in colour. Something interesting I have recently found out when my Mum had her downlights changed I am assuming the globe part, is that she was able to buy ones through the electrician that does both colours warm & cool white, all you do is flick the light switch on and off and on again and you get the other shade magic!! I was very impressed with Beacon Lighting as well, their stores are the nicest laid out of all the light shops we visited and have purchased the bulk of our lighting from there so far. Take Care Re: Our first build with Fairmont Homes - Blakes Crossing So 291Jun 15, 2016 7:31 am I like the way warm white feels too, think this is what we will end up with. I think hubby is the colour blind one for us, he didn't think woodland grey threw green and I was adamant it did, hence why we don't have woodland grey but monument on our exterior lol! I love those Emerson globes, we are still humming and harring about pendants to begin with we wanted them now we are undecided, will wait till we are in and make a choice I think. Your mums lights sound neat! She has the best of both worlds! Re: Our first build with Fairmont Homes - Blakes Crossing So 292Jun 15, 2016 12:44 pm Oh wow, I'm loving those choices, those sheers with the block out is exactly what we want, probably in s very similar shade to your choice, they will look stunning. Where are you getting them from? We need to start getting quotes. With regard to the LED down lights, we have chosen 'warm' I love the cool but I was worried that they would throw off a clinical look when we're looking at a warmer, cozier feel. When we looked at the warm in the flesh, they really weren't very yellow at all, I thought of it more like a sunny day type of brightness Building with Simonds in S.A Re: Our first build with Fairmont Homes - Blakes Crossing So 293Jun 15, 2016 6:27 pm Marshall5858 Oh wow, I'm loving those choices, those sheers with the block out is exactly what we want, probably in s very similar shade to your choice, they will look stunning. After we decided what we wanted we laid a deposit and they did a check measure about two weeks ago so our curtains will be ready to install after handover. I found them the most helpful in the north anyway the LEDs I think will be going with warm white I think you are right with the natural sunlight effect , certainly feels nice to me! Goodluck with your quotes, if you have any other questions just fire away Re: Our first build with Fairmont Homes - Blakes Crossing So 294Jun 15, 2016 10:26 pm Thanks so much, appreciate you getting back to me Building with Simonds in S.A Re: Our first build with Fairmont Homes - Blakes Crossing So 295Jun 20, 2016 10:41 pm No action for a week, hopeful for plumbing maybe.....still delays on our island bench, supreme kitchens have a faulty machine and now have a backlog. Things left to do: Island bench installed and slab end power point Fix a hole in family room Install sinks and other plumbing Kids built in robes Bathroom mirrors Paint Panel lift doors Fly screens to windows and doors Pretty minor stuff I reckon.... However..... We have hit a lull, no matter how many questions I ask we don't get any hint on if we are still tracking for an early handover.... Super frustrating, in the meantime I'm hunting for a dining table, also annoying I can't find anything I like really hope We get a surprise at the end of the week with some progress!
