I cant believe they can treat you this way.. when its one of the bigger investments you may possibly make. Over on the Coral build thread everyone is really upset aswell - I hoped being a new year they might pick up there act.. maybe not _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Building at Northlakes Estate- Cameron park 2665Jan 25, 2016 10:43 am joey_smith1986 HO just says to talk to the SS and they blame the trades etc, just no feeling of support or care really Joey (8 Dunsyre Av.) That is the biggest cop out. THEY choose the trades, so if people are letting them down they need to find ones who won't! He rang to introduce himself but he doesn't actually take over until the slab is down. There's apparently a concrete manager who deals with sites up until that point but I haven't heard from him yet. I emailed the Customer Service girl last week but all she said was everyone is delayed because of the bad weather blah blah and that he would ring me once piering was lined up. If I haven't heard anything by the end of this week I might have to start making some noise. I believe a blog post tagging Clarendon may be in order Building at Northlakes Estate- Cameron park 2668Jan 25, 2016 12:27 pm And the next mistake in the super long list of tradie failures... Today's winner goes to Carpet Call Kotara, who missed an entire room quoted and paid for carpet install. Not a small room, the home theatre?! This comes weeks after the first batch was 'spoiled' during floods in the warehouse, delaying install by weeks. Seriously though, no exaggeration, every single trade involved in our build thus far has pretty much made at least one major mistake. It's okay Montgomery, it's not just you . Some have been good in fixing the issues, most however just tried to hide their incompetence/negligence. Note to self: if at all possible, read a 'how to guide' and do it yourself from now on. Save money and worry by doing it right the first time. The amount of competition for trades has in no way increased competitiveness or quality in newcastle. You wonder how they get away with it and still run a business the way some of them work. I really hope that's the end of your bad luck and things go better from now on. I really hope that's the end of your bad luck and things go better from now on. Sadly I don't think it's luck. I think you're lucky if a builder or tradesman actually provides agreed and quoted service for payment. Oh and my other gripe at the moment. Why does every tradie think it's fine to leave all his food waste and trash at my house after they have finished on site? It's bad enough they never clean up their trade mess but when it's their own garage seriously... Yeah, I'm a bit peeved with the whole 'building a home' thing and seeing the same thing happen to most of you makes me think the issues are institutional. I'll get off my soapbox now. Re: Building at Northlakes Estate- Cameron park 2671Jan 25, 2016 1:57 pm Nah we just better build a bigger soaabox so we can all join you up there I must say the last time we built which was 10 years ago, things seemed to go a hell of a lot smoother! Re: Building at Northlakes Estate- Cameron park 2672Jan 27, 2016 10:33 am meminiau NBN CO have confirmed my next appt for a week from today!! I cannot get over the amount of drama I have experienced. . I'm a week into the month for my mobile phone plan, and I've already used over 12 GB of data. Oh well, let's focus on the good I now have a driveway! In a little over 2 weeks it will be sealed. Unfortunately the concrete work done by Luke Rigby is already falling apart and has led to my garage flooding, but I'm sure it would have been worse had I let him continue the job. We are still happy with the house, which is a positive j just wish there were more hours in a day to get everything done! Lucky for me my neighbour has retired so has been putting up our dividing fence for free NSW Fair Trading has issued a warning on Luke Rigby who has been trading under an unregistered business name. Apparently he has a history of threatening people who complain about his ** work. Dunsyre100 Update: Montgomery Homes are heading out to investigate the leak this morning. They have stated they sent a plumber mid-week to fix the leak. He obviously failed to seal the leak, or he didn’t turn up at all; I didn’t see anyone on my roof and I’ve been there half of the week. Did anyone here see someone on the roof of 3 Dunsyre during the week? Re: Building at Northlakes Estate- Cameron park 2673Jan 27, 2016 10:41 am I heard that about Luke Rigby too _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Building at Northlakes Estate- Cameron park 2674Jan 27, 2016 2:35 pm Yeah I just saw Fair Trading have posted it on their Facebook page. They're going to start the 2nd floor before the first. Maybe they'll do the roof first and lift it up a bit and keep building underneath. That makes sense.
