Haha Gosh Reg that would be awesome! It's really coming together now painter back Thursday and I'm pretty sure plumber there Wednesday now to install the bath and vanities!!! Hopefully stone goes in tomorrow, then water tank and aircon this week too. Driveway next Monday then flooring starts on Tuesday and shower screens/mirrors and robes fitted and finished. Full on two weeks ahead! We are organising turf and retaining atm so hopefully it's all ready when we move Hope everything goes as per schedule and without issues... Sorry if I had missed, do you have a PCI date? Our first build 1864Nov 28, 2016 1:01 pm deejay08 Haha! It is a bit! Back to the selections...I wanted a hamptons kitchen but this house just doesn't suit it. I wanted it to flow so went with my other love of rustic industrial. Pretty mental you are choosing Cs alpine mist as that was my first choice! It was a massive upgrade though so I had to let it go. I then thought maybe frosty Carrina might be in our budget Lololololol what an idiot! Haha nope! Our suppliers standards are quantum Quartz so I then chose 'white swirl' which was still an upgrade as it was 'deluxe' so anyway as I was completely set on waterfall ends so I had to stay in the totally standard range so Luna white won the day. To be honest I absolutely love it and am dying to see it installed now. Don't get me wrong if I had a bigger thicker wallet I'd of gone with alpine no question. My friend has recently remodelled her kitchen hamptons style and has alpine mist too and it looks f'ing amazing!!! She has it as her splash as well. Cost a fortune but looks stunning! It comes in panels believe it or not so you could actually do a bathroom in it...if you have scoured CS website you've probs seen it in bathrooms. It's so nerve wracking when things start actually being installed! As you probably read with my tiles! I was beside myself just before I saw them laid! But so glad I trusted my initial ideas and vision. I made dozens of moodboards like a total obsessed crazy person and that was pretty much my life lol funnily enough I keep referring back to them as something new goes in as out of context they don't look right but when it's all done and put together it all makes sense. I think my flooring is going to make a massive difference along with the stone so very excited to see these babies go in! Hope all goes well tomoz...trust your gut and initial vision and you will be fine. Don't freak too much as you can tweak things before they actually order anything...I added in my shadow line handles after taking them out and wasn't charged a fee so don't feel too pressured to nail everything first go lol So enjoy every minute and take your time...and please show me your selections! Sorry for the late response. It has been a busy few days! Your selections are lovely, and yes, you have to stick with the overall flow/ theme of the home so it all ties together. We must have similar taste it seems and so does your friend. Her kitchen is lovely. Same sort of thing I am aiming for. And yes so many, many nights spent on Pinterest. . I have a mood board for every room of the home LOL. But it really does help you to visualise things and start to identify the key elements you want to incorporate. So our tile selections went well. Probably seems a bit boring looking at them in isolation, but my mantra has always been less is more. Let's hope that is actually the case!! We have chosen a light grey subway tile with a hint of blue for our kitchen splashback to tie in with the 2-pack cabinets in polar white satin finish with door profile and alpine mist benches. Looks a lot more blue in the pic than it really is. Grey satin finish porcelain tiles for the floors, white subway for walls (half height) and my absolute fave and splurge, Italian porcelain marble look tiles for shower feature wall . Lol Your laundry will look exactly like mine!at least you will get a sneak peak at the final result hehe! Those grey subways are gorgeous how'd you go with your externals? Those grey subways are gorgeous how'd you go with your externals? Thanks glad you think so. Been stressing about it for months! Yes well let's hope we can actually afford all of these choices. Haven't signed our contracts yet so hopefully won't get too much of a nasty surprise when the time comes, and worse, won't have to start making cut backs. We are going to have twin laundries, ha ha. Can't wait to see yours all properly finished! The grey subways took ages to find. Initially was looking at more blue coloured tiles as inspired by interior designer Melinda Hart's home. Have you seen her kitchen? It is bloody stunning! But a) wasn't game enough to go there, and b) just thought it clashed to much with the alpine mist, hence chose these which have more of a grey base. Haven't got to externals yet, that's this weekend. Our facade is modern coastal - think greys and white, with render on ground floor, and timber cladding on second floor. In the meantime have just sent my front elevation and some colours in mind to New Home Visuals to mock up some pics for me. Saw another member do this and thought would be worth trying a few options. Re: Our first build 1869Nov 28, 2016 3:30 pm Love your tiles! I also love the right angled herringbone pattern I changed mine at the last minute and couldn't be happier. Stop stressing! You chose beautifully! Did you pick a few backups incase the cost is too high? I did that and ended up needing to use my back up stone lol I'm still super happy and figure it was meant to be. I didn't do that with tiles though and was so paranoid I'd have to re-choose them. Luckily I didn't and it's now pretty much done yay! Everything was grouted today and the only bit left is the kitchen splash which will be after Wednesday when the stone goes on soo excited! And the laundry and portico floors finished so a day I'd say. Hoping they do it saturday! Anyways your facade sounds lovely and totally fitting the 'hamptons' styling. I'm sure it will be stunning!
