Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Acreage Build: Jimboomba - Stroud Homes - Kentucky 304 181Jan 12, 2017 12:59 pm Hubby and I went out to the block on the weekend for a sticky beak but there was workers there so we didn't go up! Ss called on Monday (he was sick on Friday) and let us know we are getting painted this week! Absolutely fanging for a visit, can't wait to go out this weekend! Going to go late so that there won't be any workers I reckon Our acreage build: Queensland: Stroud Homes Re: Acreage Build: Jimboomba - Stroud Homes - Kentucky 304 182Jan 12, 2017 1:06 pm Jord_13 charlibear I love your facade, so nice and has a charming country feel! I love your furniture selections!! I'm partial to Nick Scali Hubby and I are getting a big L shape lounge but just because that what fits our lifestyle, we are gym fanatics but other than that we're pretty much couch potatoes so the big L works for us and allows to lounge about watching a movie or just have a snooze on the couch You just need to figure what works for your lifestyle, if you get it for looks you will probably regret your lounge selection sooner rather than later GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 We've decided on a L lounge with a chaise bit on one end. It's going to face the bookshelf/tv combo in our main living area! Done and done. Now though it's a question of rugs. What one? How big? Does it go in the middle or is it suppose to be under the couch a bit? Interior designer I am NOT!! I can't help with rugs because I have no clue, I was hoping to do a cute jute rug in the middle but feel it will look stupid so I'll just wait until we are in the house with the lounge then decide Yay for being painted this week!!! Not long now GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: Acreage Build: Jimboomba - Stroud Homes - Kentucky 304 183Jan 15, 2017 3:09 pm Well we are at about 95% painted outside. Only the roof in the alfresco, the portico and the bit above and around the garage to go. The rest has been done. It looks as though the painters have done quiet a good job. It's neat and there aren't any obvious drip marks, brush marks, thin patches or dense patches. Next week they are suppose to be doing inside, once the walls have been sanded down. There may have been another sliding door left open and we may have discovered that there have been some deliveries made in the form of our stove and the bathroom accessories... we also have a sink in our kitchen. Alas, it appears the wrong one has been ordered as the hole for the tap is on the wrong side oops. No dramas though, it's not been sealed in or anything so I guess they will just order a new one?? Our wardrobe draws and shelves have been delivered as well. Ready to be installed once the painting is done. Re: Acreage Build: Jimboomba - Stroud Homes - Kentucky 304 187Jan 24, 2017 8:54 am Been a very busy week for us last week. Hubby was in Singapore but needed to organise getting a small site scrape done for his orchid house which is being installed as we speak. We got a guy to come out with his bob cat on Saturday and he did a great job of creating a nice level pad for the orchid house... And then.... An afternoon of digging up dirt and putting it in a wheelbarrow and we got it as close as it was going to get. Then we put weed mat down and hammered it in. All good, and ready for Tuesday when the orchid house was going down. THEN on Monday hubby had to go out to the site to accept delivery of our hot water system which we were supplying ourselves and it's a good thing he did because the wind had pulled up the weed mat everywhere AND it had shrunk in the sun!! ? Back out there yesterday afternoon repegging. The guy arrived at 6:30 this morning to start constructing the orchid house and all I can say is thank god for that!! There is a smudge of white paint on our cladding out the front which is painted a dark grey so it's very obvious. Someone has chipped one of the tiles at the front door, which will need to be replaced. There is a chunk missing from the render at the front, right on one of the corners which will need to be filled. Small things which we have every confidence will get fixed! We have a meeting with the SS on Friday, I will bring up these things then. I suppose I could wait until PCI but why wait! Our acreage build: Queensland: Stroud Homes Re: Acreage Build: Jimboomba - Stroud Homes - Kentucky 304 191Jan 24, 2017 9:12 am Also- deliveries, we've had a bunch of these last week including all the lights, fans, bathroom accessories etc and our stove! Can't wait till they finish painting so that they can start putting it all together! Our acreage build: Queensland: Stroud Homes Re: Acreage Build: Jimboomba - Stroud Homes - Kentucky 304 192Jan 24, 2017 9:13 am Lastly, we found that there was a big pile of sand delivered yesterday. Could be that we will get our driveway soon?? Fingers crossed!! I'll be so happy once that's done and we don't have to walk up through the mud and random bits of dirt, stone and rubbish. Our acreage build: Queensland: Stroud Homes Re: Acreage Build: Jimboomba - Stroud Homes - Kentucky 304 193Jan 24, 2017 2:50 pm You have had a busy few days. The painting looks great. I can't wait. Nice and wide. Where we are at the moment the driveway is a nightmare! Hubby also noticed that there is a big X on the tile out the front which had a chip out of it, so the builders have obviously noticed it and made a note to replace it! Yay Our acreage build: Queensland: Stroud Homes Re: Acreage Build: Jimboomba - Stroud Homes - Kentucky 304 196Jan 24, 2017 7:36 pm Wow! It has come together so fast! Looks awesome! We are ready for the fit out and a CLEAN! Our meeting with the SS is tomorrow. Hoping to get an indication of a finish date. Our lease is up in five weeks......... Fingers and toes everyone, fingers and toes. Our acreage build: Queensland: Stroud Homes Re: Acreage Build: Jimboomba - Stroud Homes - Kentucky 304 200Jan 27, 2017 5:49 pm Friday update!! Just finished having a walk through with the SS. Everything is progressing really well, full steam ahead. Next week is going to see a hive of activity at the house with the electricians, lock smith and plumbers all scheduled. Carpet will also be going down sometime in the next two weeks along with our driveway and other concrete paths. Then it's just the solar panels and the screens to fit and install. Our final walk through is roughly scheduled for the 14th of February! I'm so pleased, can't stop smiling. It means everything is on track for us to recieve keys before our rental agreement runs out on the 4th of March. I think if I had had to extend our lease again I would have cried. Can't stand it there haha. This weekend will be full of packing boxes and cleaning some of the packed up rooms. When we went in today we noticed that the wardrobes had been fitted out. The glass splash back has been measured and all the door handles have been laid out with the corresponding door. The plumber had also started to fit out the taps and the toilets. Our acreage build: Queensland: Stroud Homes 1 4886 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 20050 3 52029 |
