Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Boutique Homes 1721Feb 02, 2016 7:03 pm Hi, thank you we struggled with picking the right flooring that was our 4th change. The company boutique uses is Haynes flooring, I think! I called a few places that specialized in timber flooring but they did not have 'Rocky Oak'. I think it's specific to the company and also because it's engineered timber. https://letsbuildwithboutique.wordpress.com Re: Boutique Homes 1722Feb 02, 2016 7:26 pm I wish I had of seen the 3 coat paint system a week ago We have signed off on our final addenda (site start is tomorrow) and ours says 2 coats. How annoying! Re: Boutique Homes 1723Feb 02, 2016 7:53 pm baneshouse I wish I had of seen the 3 coat paint system a week ago We have signed off on our final addenda (site start is tomorrow) and ours says 2 coats. How annoying! Ow I didn't notice until today trawling the website again. I was told the 2 coats is still guaranteed to be spotless, so if the paint work not up to scratch you still can get them to fix it. The addenda did say that their work is based in display quality Re: Boutique Homes 1724Feb 02, 2016 8:04 pm Hi guys, I wouldn't be too upset without getting the 3 coat system. We paid extra to get it and I must say, they used the worst paint ever. Any mark on the wall will not come off, we've tried scrubbing, soap, baby wipes, gently wiping, damp cloth, you name it..... We told our SS and he just said he'd pass on the opinion.... We've talked to a painter since and they just said the quality of paint was pretty bad and that the painters would not have sanded between painting. Our opinion, save the extra and get the house properly painted after they are done. On a side note, Boutique are still working on our outstanding list, yes, 4+ months on. Fingers crossed we get results soon...... Re: Boutique Homes 1725Feb 02, 2016 8:13 pm Here is a msg from my sales consultant regarding 2 or 3 coats and if they use spray paint or roller. Good morning mate, most clients are happy with 2 coats, I think it will be a personal preference more than anything, cos they use quality paint and roll the paint coverage is much stronger that lets say paint sprayed on. If that's the case, a Variation will be raised. They will send you a final set of plans as well as final addenda prior to your file being handed over to the construction team. This will happen if there is changes or not. We had to make a change to our plan to gain developer approval. Our pre start just raised a variation for us to sign (it was an additional charge) Re: Boutique Homes 1732Feb 03, 2016 11:43 am Congratulations JP79 - I'm so excited for you. Hopefully I'm not too far behind you!!! Good luck with the move - be sure to upload some photos. Airlie 33 is 24K less then our base price Just check it again. You are right. St Tropez 28 base price is cheaper than the base of my Tropez 25. There is also $8000 bonus of either 2700mm ceiling or better kitchen - in exchange the removed the 2340 internal doors and dishwasher + microwave from the standards. Tropez 25 is now riviera 25 and 12k cheaper than my original price. Re: Boutique Homes 1738Feb 03, 2016 9:01 pm EN710 d_a_ya Anyone noticed they have prices now on the website? Unfortunately my St. Tropez 25 is much costlier than what was advertised now oh by the way since my property has a bushfire rating of 12.5 I am asked to shell out another 5K to make the house bushfire compliant. I have been reading about the additional stuff that goes with the bushfire requirement. I find Sarking your roof to be helpful in the long run for your house. Other than it keeps embers from your house, it act as a second layer below your roof to shield your house from radiant heat, prevent buildup of moisture and dust in the ceiling and help maintain your insulation. Worth while to check if you could add Sarking under your roof. --------------------------------------------- Building a St. Tropez 25 - Boutique Homes Aurora Estate Wollert - Victoria Re: Boutique Homes 1739Feb 03, 2016 9:12 pm 7th_Cavalry EN710 d_a_ya Anyone noticed they have prices now on the website? I asked at least twice. St Tropez 25 is now riviera 25, at this point it's actually 10k cheaper for us to cancel our current contract and re do them. Re: Boutique Homes 1740Feb 03, 2016 11:32 pm Did anyone check with their New Homes Consultant to find out whether Boutique removed anything to bring the prices down? I find it odd that prices are so much lower. Airlie is $ 10,000 lower. 10 16346 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
