I can't believe even when you were so close to the finish line they have stuffed up again. Really hoping for it all to be resolved quickly for you. The respect for this place was lost a very very longtime ago. Re: Porter Davis homes 14203Feb 14, 2017 1:39 pm Hi all, new to the forum. We're thinking about building Waldorf 44 with PD. From the previous threads, ppl are getting bonus/credit/freebies for building a home design. I'd like to ask the following -Which design are you building? -What sort of freebies have you managed to get from Sales/Consultants? such as free Evap Cooling, free Hebel -How much bonus/credit for WOS upgrade have you got from Sales/Consultants? I could tell when we approached Sales that they definitely have certain level of bonus they could give directly as long as you know how to negotiate and push. Thank you guys Re: Porter Davis homes 14204Feb 14, 2017 1:46 pm 9528 Hi all, new to the forum. We're thinking about building Waldorf 44 with PD. Thank you guys I think that they pretty much always have some sort of promotion on. At the moment the main one seems to be cheap Hebel, but others have had more money to spend in the kitchen or colourbond included or better carpets etc. I don't know how much room they have outside of whatever the standard promos at the time are. Building a Kew 28 with Porter Davis Re: Porter Davis homes 14206Feb 14, 2017 3:15 pm lizbf85 did PD organise the LPOD for you? Our Sales Consultant told us it was our responsibility to ensure we had a suitable LPOD. She told us about another customer doing a KDRB and their LPOD cost them $40,000! Also, it says you need a LPOD in the KDRB book they give you. We knew our LPOD would be a problem before we started and organised our own permits, engineering plan and then a plumber to do the job. The respect for this place was lost a very very longtime ago. Really sorry to hear what you are going through Liz. Whilst I can't say I know exactly what you are going through, having briefly worked at PD I have some idea. Their "respect the dream" campaign is well intentioned but the reality isn't always the case. It was enough to turn me off going with a volume builder again. It sounds like you are over it but I can only advise to stand your ground and take matters up the chain of command. Try the regional manager. From what I saw, the customers that made the most fuss, stood their ground or threatened legal action were the ones that got results and got them quickly. Hang in there and good luck with everything. I could tell when we approached Sales that they definitely have certain level of bonus they could give directly as long as you know how to negotiate and push. Thank you guys Hi 9528, I have spoken 3 consultants before signing up and the last one was happy to do the structural changes we requested, so we signed up with her. We got free CAT3 roof tiles (as our facade doesn't have colorbond roof) but is only valid until 2017 December. If we don't start build by December, that is gone as well. So, NO FREEBIES . But they have some really good promotion going on now and the Dunedin29 price went up from 236K to 243K in just one month. Be ware of the extreme price hikes. Good luck with your negotiations! Re: Porter Davis homes 14209Feb 15, 2017 7:48 pm Unsure if anyones following who have built and got to this point... whos responsibility is it to fix the broken footpaths that have occurred during the build? We are assuming it is ours however we really cant be sure. Cant find it in any documentation either. We knew our LPOD would be a problem before we started and organised our own permits, engineering plan and then a plumber to do the job. Hi they organised it, and it was brought to our attention initially that our LPOD wasn't deep enough for our build. whatever that meant. Their quick fix is something that costs over $15K which is a pump system that requires on going servicing. We fought this and has their plumbers and engineers put together a plan and create some other type of pump that cost $11K. It took months of delay and hold up with council... It was almost like they had never dealt with Lpods before. I dont remember seeing that in ours, i wonder if that came in after all our troubles after signing in dec 2015. They finally now have the permit for all the plans that were signed off a year ago, and we are told works will be done by tomorrow. Not holding our breathe. Re: Porter Davis homes 14211Feb 16, 2017 11:40 am I really hope this is the very last hurdle for you Liz, Have you been to the house recently? Is it looking finished? From what I saw, the customers that made the most fuss, stood their ground or threatened legal action were the ones that got results and got them quickly. Hang in there and good luck with everything. We have tried, and were told a construction manger would call yesterday, didn't... again that says it all. It really feels like there is just no option but to wait, and watch things be 'fixed' up to 3 times and still be wrong. Our walk in robe, finally someone came out, and surprise its wrong AGAIN! Finally got an update yesterday that LPOD works should be done by friday, and pci next week. We wont be holding our breath for all the outstanding items to be done that for sure.... standing out the front yesterday waiting for our concrete to come over we stood staring at our facade that is just so poorly put together, its disgusting and lazy. We both even joked about selling it and just moving on, based on the entire nightmare its been so far. Re: Porter Davis homes 14213Feb 16, 2017 11:47 am nikil I really hope this is the very last hurdle for you Liz, Have you been to the house recently? Is it looking finished? yes yesterday, mirror and bathrooms are finished i believe. electrics and the data points have to be finished, down pipes.etc There are a few things like paint touch ups, grout and kitchen cabinets have to be replaced however have been advised that will probably be after pci. And after staring at the facade yesterday a lot of paint touch ups, and cleaning render of our window seals where they have been extremely lazy. God only know how long that will all take to rectify post PCI Re: Porter Davis homes 14214Feb 16, 2017 11:49 am Your experience is really disheartening to hear, I really hope we don't have as many problems. Only time will tell! Re: Porter Davis homes 14215Feb 16, 2017 1:44 pm nikil Your experience is really disheartening to hear, I really hope we don't have as many problems. Only time will t So do i!!! Unfortunately it just seems the reality, not only me but past forum members as well. Most that were following this when we had just started had similar problems and experiences, so i guess we were always expecting it. Another member who built the Vancouver some month ago is going through all sorts of hell at the moment trying to have issues rectified. Floors being ripped up, walls out of plumb, appliances breaking, repainting, walls repairs, brick issues causing water/flood problems. Nightmare... Hopefully given so many are only in early stages of their builds you will all be able to help each other out as things arise as things progress. We are assuming it is ours however we really cant be sure. Cant find it in any documentation either. Our SS said it was PD's responsibility as they broke 4 panels in our footpath and they were going to "get around to" fixing them. A month after handover with no activity we had our concreter fix them as we were moving our cross over and putting in a driveway anyway. It cost us about $500 on top of our other concrete costs which the SS said PD would compensate us for. Another 3 months and several emails later there is no sign of any compensation. Sorry if this is not helpful but if PD break the footpath they should fix the footpath otherwise they cannot claim back the asset protection bond ($1500 with my council) that they have paid. Good luck with the rest of your build. Re: Porter Davis homes 14220Feb 17, 2017 2:48 pm well its friday afternoon, and we were told we'd have a manager call us Wednesday as they were out of the office for two days.... still nothing!
this is really just beyond a joke and really just goes to show if they cant call, what kind of idiots we are dealing with. full stop they just couldn't care less.. Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 14029 I would never build with Fowler homes.
