We are also having screw piles and some other stuff, I'll take a pic of the tender and see if it compares to yours, of course all is pending a second soil test... our block should be cleared in 3 weeks then they will do the second soil test. They said there's a chance the costs may go down but I'm not holding my breath. The house on our block was also there a very long time it was actually ordered to be demolished because it was so old and crap. Thanks.. we usually see it in the afternoon sun, def looks different in the morning light. Ok sure thing.. Oh i thought u mentioned there were no screw piles. What have the suggested for your slab? That is true but it also goes both ways and its good you are still optimistic. Did you have any issues with your legal point of discharge at all? Well our original soil report said no screw piles required but when we got to tender they had screw piles I didn't question it at the time because I didn't realise they were in there but I will be questioning it. A few things like the vent relocation and my WIR but thats about it. Some nice handy work by your little bricklayer there I see. Re: Porter Davis homes 14165Feb 07, 2017 8:23 pm lizbf85 what floors are you putting down? We are getting them done after handover and I can't decide whether to go engineered boards or timber overlay. Re: Porter Davis homes 14166Feb 08, 2017 9:28 am PieMan, your place looks fantastic!!! PieMan Ashik_09 Has anyone done Hebel in lieu of bricks? I have heard good reviews about hebel. We are building Hebel. Lucky enough to get free under a lifestyle promotion. Te render looks fantastic. You just have to be more careful around it. We had a corner damage by what i think was a bob cat. Ill try get a pic of the damage tomorrow. We have been charged ~$6500 for the bush fire assessment level as we are inside the bush fire zone. There is a good chance it might get removed before we start building. my question is, would we get the credit back from PD once the bush fire assessment is removed? how has it worked for you guys? I have been told by a friend their builder did not give them the credit until he threatened to sue them!!! I don't want to do through the same process which is going to be painful and stressful on top of this build!! Yeh i guess we were the same, the initial spoil doesnt say alot, at tender we had a note to say that we 'may' require screw piles so we took that as we would need screw piles haha sure enough. Your building the Vancouver aren't you, sorry i have forgotten. I believe our slab was about $35k and services was about $3 we might have just needed more screw piles becasue ours went up by a few thousand at contract for that reason. yeh the LPOD was a huge issue for us, that's all looked at when they assess it for a rebuild, and found that our pit was too shallow, therefore it took 8 weeks to resolve with council, and engineers to create a fix. costing us $11K WE are just hoping that it all runs smootly today when they complete there work and connect it. We are getting them done after handover and I can't decide whether to go engineered boards or timber overlay. we are doing out own floors post handover as it was just too hard picking with PD not being overly happy with any of them. we had had enough searching the country side for displays then finding one we love which was discontinued Here is two photos, we went with a timber oak look laminate, our friends also just laid the same floor and it looks incredible. very hard to detect it is not real, plus its super tough for kids. We also spent money on really nice skirts too so we will be putting skirts on after floors as well. (big job) but we avoid quads. horray! We received notification we were no longer in a BAL area just before our tender appointment, so we were lucky we could have this removed. For updates check the link below, if your still in a BAL area maybe get in contact with them directly. I did and they were able to confirm changes to the BAL areas. http://services.land.vic.gov.au/maps/bushfire.jsp Re: Porter Davis homes 14171Feb 08, 2017 12:18 pm sunshine83 Looking very good. Thank you! we had a second rail added to one wall of each robe for shirts/skirts/pants etc .. however my robe has had them installed on both walls leaving no rooms for long hanging items.. as a female that is not going to work, i own 100 dresses lol Re: Porter Davis homes 14172Feb 08, 2017 1:58 pm Hi DB_1985, we are still under the BAL area and have our colour appointment next week. Say we sign the contract in May and build is planned to start in December and BAL gets removed in August, will PD provide us back the credit for the $6500? or its gone with the wind into my build? dc_1985 Ashik_09 Guys, just have a question regarding the bush fire levy. My wife and I will be looking to do flooring post handover as well. Would be curious to know how much PD credit for removing flooring from the contract, and how much cheaper it is to have it done post hand over. Also I heard PD say that by law, they have to tile all wet rooms before handover. If thats true, does that include laundry and powder room? Luckily ours was taken off prior to our tender. Definitely get in touch with land channel on the link above, they updated me on the progress. They were very helpful and will should give you more information on if your area will be mapped into a none BAL area and when. Oh i thought that tender reffered to the scre piles already. Id also study the slab plans once u get ur docs because we looked at tender and contract and noticed steel taken from the final plans but no credits.. funny that! We questioned and got a "oh sorry" heres ur credit. U gotta study everything!! Yep thats right Re: Porter Davis homes 14180Feb 08, 2017 8:40 pm We received some pretty disappointing news today. And honestly just expected it based on such a horrible experience so far.... it seems our pci and even handover at this point will be delayed for an unknown time due to a permit for our lpod... We are fed up and i honestly broke down today when i read the email. For months weve been following this up with our ss to ensure it was on track as we knew that if anything this could potentially hold us up like it did before our contract. We continue to get emails saying its been followed up. Clearly no actual action or care was taken just another forwarded email. Pd really are unbelievable!!!! Kdr specialists hahaha please!!! We are hoping like anything this permit was done in the process of getting our lpod through council all those months ago and this is already held... if not they can expect some pretty furious customers. ABSOLUTELY OVER THIS NIGHTMARE!!!! After this is over and if it ever ends its fair to say i would be never ever be recommending PD to a single soul.. it should be illegal to put customers through this amount of stress and hell for 13 months.. . Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 14031 I would never build with Fowler homes.
