Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 141Apr 08, 2013 8:43 pm I had my shelves go in over the weekend 1sttime and I also had my electricians start today. The plumber is meant to be this week as well, so I'll also have baths, toilets etc. too. My tilers are supposed to be coming back next week to do the floor. After that we need to get door hardware, small things like the silicone around the bathroom tiles, carpet?. Surely there's not too much more before PCI. Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 142Apr 08, 2013 8:48 pm I know it's getting so close... I'm getting excited, but overwhelmed at the same time. I still have to pack a 3 bedroom house that I have lived in the past 13 years. There is a lot of accumulated stuff that I am having to sift through before I pack. I will not take anything I don't anticipate using... Fun times! Built a Hawthorne 31 with EB nessjeffdreamhouse.blogspot.com.au Building an investment now with New Living homes... Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 143Apr 08, 2013 9:20 pm I've already started packing - there's a whole pile of boxes in the garage ready to go. It's time consuming. I'm also filling the bin every week throwing things out. Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 144Apr 08, 2013 9:34 pm I just meant the light. The colours look great Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 145Apr 10, 2013 9:07 pm A busy few days. The electricians finished their work, the air conditioning people came and did the vents and the plumber was there today putting in the taps and showers and things. Some of the doors seem to have been drilled for the door handles but there not on yet - hopefully tomorrow. I'm not sure what else will happen this week. The SS was hoping to get the drive started soon and the range should be replaced late this week or early next week. The tilers are meant to be back next week. Hopefully they will come on Monday and should be done in a week. Then its the showers, silicon in bathroom, mirrors, cleaning up, then PCI. I think. Have I missed anything?? I made a decision about the light above the kitchen bench. I'm going with the beaded one but a seven light version. Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 147Apr 10, 2013 9:26 pm No. I asked when I met him onsite yesterday but got nothing. Hopefully it will be soon. The week after next would be great as I'm off work and I could really take my time and not have to have time off work. Is yours still going to be the end of the month? Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 148Apr 10, 2013 9:30 pm I hope so... We got an update of dates today, it appears to be on track... I hope so... As much as I was surprised by the timing... I originally thought July. I really hope we are in by mid May, at the latest! Built a Hawthorne 31 with EB nessjeffdreamhouse.blogspot.com.au Building an investment now with New Living homes... Its looking really good so far - I guess those hunderds of hours contemplating colour choices weren't wasted after all. I know that the dark colours aren't for everyone but the other colours are quite neutral so I think it will all come together nicely - besides, I'm severely allergic to cream and it can be hard to get away from. What stage are you up to? Yes definitely some good choices there Dearheart, the several hours weren't wasted I bet you are getting excited We are at frame stage, surprised that they didnt give the slab a hose down, mine is brown with dirt and frames are going up, wondering if the carpet will be laid over the top of that dust eww! Keep those pics coming, I love watching the progress of your beautiful house! I got a few pics of the bathroom with towel rails and the door with handles but I can't see too much of the house at the moment - its too muddy to get all the way around the house. Hopefully I will be able to get some good pictures in this coming week. Your bricks look fantastic. I wanted Mild Steel but the husband wanted a darker brick. Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 156Apr 15, 2013 12:38 pm So the driveway people are there today shaping up. They are pouting the concrete tomorrow and paving on Wednesday (as long as it doesn't rain). So by Wednesday afternoon I will have a driveway. Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 157Apr 15, 2013 5:30 pm So I went by the house the afternoon. The ground has been cut and drawn on ready to be prepared and poured tomorrow. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The driveway people told us that council rules state that you can't pave all the way to the road - past your boundary must be concrete. I wish that was something that EBH told me - it may have made me rethink pavers. Just something else to add about poor communication from EBH - really not too happy with them. Re: Eden Brae - My First Home The Lawson 24 158Apr 15, 2013 8:41 pm Very exciting Dearheart....ours is due to go down Friday fingers crossed... Don't want any delays now!
