Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13981Dec 02, 2016 9:38 am any chance someone here has shutters on the 3 large Seville facade windows? if so would you please share a pic or measurements? I'm trying to order online but can't figure out how many panels etc. thanks! Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13982Dec 02, 2016 2:30 pm Moscato5 Balk Moscato5 Received our notice of practical completion today. Estimated walkthrough 14/12 but this is to be confirmed. Feeling excited but Still having issue with no painter being onsite when we do drivebys despite our update saying they are there. Contacted SS, he's trying to chase them into there. Getting very frustrating considering we have heaps of tradies lined up back to back in order to get the house finished. You must be excited and frustrated all at the same time. This is how I feel. I'm not far behind you but it seems someone has dumped rubbish on my block yet again, this is only possible because one of the neighbor has removed their temporary fencing and beechwood have done nothing about patching up the missing panels even though I've advised them of it numerous times. In this instance with the block being in beechwood possession and the fact that they have done nothing to get new fencing installed on the portion that's missing is it fair to demand they take responsibility and pay for the cleanup? Thanks Our fence is being left open quite often by the trades and both our neighbours will no doubt be removing fencing sometime very soon, so we will have the same issue. But yes, whilst it's in BH hands it should be their responsibility as if it was secured it would be less likely to occur. AND the site fencing is part of our costs, and is not being utilised correctly. This seems like a logical train of thought somehow beechwood doesn't see logic lol Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13985Dec 02, 2016 4:31 pm Balk I've just had confirmation that carpets and aircon vents were done today. It seems we have some movement! Can't have much left now! Great news Balk. We did our daily driveby and what do you know, no painters. SS was there though. He spends more time there then the trades. He honestly is a great guy. He was there cleaning up. He is trying to coax the painters into working the weekend to make a start. If not, monday. Things have been pushed back again because of no available painters. Talk about touch and go. Carpet now booked for 20 or 21. BH shuts down 22. don't like our chances. However, on the plus side, we received our final invoice today in order to try get the bank onside. Catch here too though - according to bank manager they won't do valuation till carpet is in. But at least they will have the paperwork they need except occupation certificate which is still in the making . 20/11/15 - Settled land 06/11/15 - Request 1st tender BH 21/04/16 - Colour Selections and Contracts Signed 31/05/16 - Commencement Letter 24/06.16 - Started work onsite - cut and benching begun Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13986Dec 02, 2016 4:41 pm Moscato5 Balk I've just had confirmation that carpets and aircon vents were done today. I know for a fact that beechwood don't want to be holding onto your job during Christmas as if anyone does any damage it costs them as its still in their possession. Plus they are always looking to get paid a hahaha Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13987Dec 02, 2016 6:28 pm Balk I've just had confirmation that carpets and aircon vents were done today. It seems we have some movement! Can't have much left now! Awesome! Our carpets got done today too plus we have all the door furniture on. Do you know how long roughly it takes for air con to get done? We have a week left and still no vents or concrete pad. My AC (internal) was installed in one day and the concrete for the stand was done during the slab. I am told the external AC unit is installed after hand over. Unsure why exactly Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13989Dec 03, 2016 5:35 am Balk nataliea Balk I've just had confirmation that carpets and aircon vents were done today. Unsure why exactly I've been told that there's a shortage of Ducting units & that's why they are not being installed during the roof/walls being installed & that they are planning on having them all done at the same time by the company. It will be one of the last things done before shut down. We had 1 for slab, then 1 from frames. I had the same experience. I had a concrete supervisor and a build supervisor. The concrete supervisor was in charge of forming the slab, piering and pouring of the slab. Once this was done I was introduced to my site supervisor who has been amazing up until recently when I was advised he had to take leave. I haven't met my new supervisor and that has been 2 weeks ago. I'm hoping the new supervisor is just as good as the last one. Should we be told who our site supervisor is by now? What area are you building in? We got our commencement letter which was around the 19th dec but looks likethey might start early as long as they can get the whole slab down and poured before the 22nd so it can cure over the shut down when they close down. Looks promising had rough fill delivered today for access and they should be starting the cut / Fill tomorrow. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13996Dec 05, 2016 7:30 pm Painting started today. Heres hoping for a miracle with no more hiccups. But still want a good job done of course. 20/11/15 - Settled land 06/11/15 - Request 1st tender BH 21/04/16 - Colour Selections and Contracts Signed 31/05/16 - Commencement Letter 24/06.16 - Started work onsite - cut and benching begun Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13997Dec 05, 2016 7:33 pm Great to hear Moscato5! Can I ask, what downlights are everyone using? Is it from your electrical fitout, or after? Any particular type better or worse? Lastly, is there a limit as to colour of moroka? We are having monument roof, silver bricks & would like something a bit different for the moroka colour. Mainly to break up the neutrality of the rest of the house. Maybe something warm? Not sure Any ideas? Cheers Mark Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13999Dec 05, 2016 10:26 pm jonesyGT Well, still going through tender etc. Hopefully going to council before they close down, think the council works a bit longer, but not holding breath.
