When there is a slope they use drop edge sections. SM so far seems to be good as he is keeping us informed every second day and trying to move things fast. Re: Glendale 38 (Elara) 131Jul 27, 2016 8:21 am Vikas77 signed and send the final variation document to M and file is now ready to move to construction phase....Bank valuation came back little less as they did not included cost of all internals but still ok to get the funding I needed.... So it took almost 6 months since our land got registered to finally moving to construction phase...Hopefully things will be fast from here. A bit late but congrats and house frame looks great. I would have loved to have got to construction phase in 6 months rather than the 12+ it took us....grass is always greener somewhere else viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Build thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Re: Glendale 38 (Elara) 132Jul 27, 2016 11:30 am NRyde Glendale37+ Vikas77 signed and send the final variation document to M and file is now ready to move to construction phase....Bank valuation came back little less as they did not included cost of all internals but still ok to get the funding I needed.... We also actually waited for 12 months since we signed the tender. It took six months to land to get registered and another 3 months for council approval...we also delayed little bit as we were not too fast on finalizing our internals...there was so much to decide and we kept going back and kept making changes. As this is our first experience of building a house so it was a very over whelming experience going through all selection but we are glad its done now....still feel unsure of few selections Re: Glendale 38 (Elara) 133Jul 28, 2016 11:22 am Vikas77 As this is our first experience of building a house so it was a very over whelming experience going through all selection but we are glad its done now....still feel unsure of few selections It is a hard thing to select every finish for a new home, especially one you're planning to live in for the long term. My good neighbour who built 5 years ago advised that you need to understand that it won't be 100% and will need to refine once you've moved in. He's still updating minor items like his bbq area, lights, fireplace etc. It's a labour of love and as long as you set the right foundation and core structure the rest you can work on. After 5 years he did say to try and get as much done during construction as possible so it's your "home" from day one. I of course am still hoping to have perfection but let's see how we go. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Build thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78995 Re: Glendale 38 (Elara) 134Jul 29, 2016 4:58 pm Visited the site today.. I told SM that I do understand if no work is done due to bad weather or genuine reasons but not able to get installers for two weeks in not what we expected from M. Also made him realize that it cost us lot of money in bank interest for every week they delay the house. I know you were complaining about the bricks being delayed and Hebel would have been quicker.....look the grass is always greener somewhere else SM told me that if we had bricks then he would have easily arranged someone else but for Hebel they don't have much choice. Re: Glendale 38 (Elara) 138Aug 29, 2016 12:19 pm Finally got some positive news from SM...Hebel guys are back on site today at 7:00am (after three weeks of no work) and started installing hebel for first floor....hopefully by end of this week all Hebel installation should be completed.
