Love the floating steps, the firepit, and the bamboo, gorgeous! MalSannie Hootie your garden looks spectacular I LOVE bamboo. How many plants do you have in the space and how long is it? I want to get some idea of how many we should plant too thanks! Ourmansion It looks fantastic with all that bamboo! Really appreciate the kind words trixee, MalSannie and Ourmansion We love the bamboo too! I was sitting on the outdoor chair this evening when I looked up at the bamboo. There's something about bamboo against the backdrop of a blue sky with the sun setting: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ MalSannie - I measured the garden bed for the bamboo planting is approx 14.6m long. There are 19 clumps of bamboo, each placed about 70cm apart (measured roughly from the centre of each plant). It appears that both ends of the planter bed had younger bamboo, followed by more mature, bushy bamboo, younger bamboo etc etc...seems to fill up that area pretty well, and also provide a screen above the fenceline.... I love it but am always scared to use it cause I have heard it can grow and spread incredibly quick?? I love it but am always scared to use it cause I have heard it can grow and spread incredibly quick?? You may be referring to the invasive kind of bamboo? Bamboo gracilis, the type we are using, is of the clumping variety, so it won't spread. Clumping bamboo growth rate is limited compared to the invasive kind Our Build Thread: The "Extended" Marina by Visionone Homes Our Inspirations: Frank Lloyd Wright | Houzz Re: Building in Aveley - Post-handover - Bamboo!! :) 1065Nov 25, 2015 5:45 pm Hootie belzey Doesn't bamboo grow at a ridiculous rate? Thank you for the kind comments...we are loving our new home! It's been sometime since I've been back on this board...been so busy with the new home, packing stuff in and getting rid of old stuff...and Christmas is literally here! I will catch up on your build during the Christmas break and I'm hoping that for those of you who have keys or are getting keys soon...enjoy your new home. For those who are still in the thick of building...hang in there! The experiences are all worth it once you start living in your new home. In between the busy-ness, we found time to dress up the front of our home for the season...it's not something we have done in the past, but with the new home, it might be a new tradition!
