Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 102Jul 31, 2013 2:02 pm We are now getting some quotes for plantation shutters and blinds for the windows. We had our first quote for plantation shutters all around, including sliding doors, ~$9,000 installed for 16 windows and 2 sliding doors, or ~$8,000 with 3 bedrooms having Roman Blinds. Bit above our budget for now. I have 2 more quotes booked in next week, then we compare. Any recommendations for Sydney area suppliers? Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 103Jul 31, 2013 2:07 pm Iv read a few people have used half price shutters, I beleive they are based in Seven Hills. Not sure how they compare to the others. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 104Jul 31, 2013 2:18 pm We just signed our construction plans and validation documents.. The 20 day countdown is on Do you have CDC/Council approval yet? Normally you would sign these documents for submission. The 20 days start when you have CC (Construction Certificate) and the land is ready for handover and build. Sorry if I burst your bubble MJ Overture Iv read a few people have used half price shutters, I beleive they are based in Seven Hills. Not sure how they compare to the others. Thank you. Just rang and made appointment for next week. Checked out their FB page and comments look ok and happy customers. We went to Accent Blinds and Kresta and got quoted around the $20k mark We ended up going through Ark to get all our blinds and shutters, did you look at them?? They are in the same showroom as the Bella Vista showroom which I think you trekked to when you had to re-select tiles?! I think we paid around the $9k and that was only shutters on a few windows, block out blinds for the other windows but that also included our fly screens and security doors Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 109Jul 31, 2013 8:31 pm MJ Overture Hi Chopdog, glad to see another Overture builder. Which Overture have you selected and what part of admin are you up to? My partner will add your email so you have access to our blog, I'll let you know once done Sunny16 - please PM me your email address so I can add you to have access to our blog also. Thanks for adding me to your blog, I look forward to following your build. Our overture is almost custom as the overture designs were too long for our block, we used the front of the elite but made the study bigger and made it into our 4th bedroom. Also changed the bathroom to the bathroom out of the vallina on display at Gregory hills. We also changed the ensuite and robe a bit by walling off the bedroom access to the robe and making the access via the ensuite. Are you internal choices standard or did you upgrade most of them. We have signed off on our plans and tender and we are waiting for our contract to get drawn up. Can't wait!!!! Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 110Jul 31, 2013 8:46 pm Wow sounds amazing, would you mind posting a picture of your plans..would be good to see?! Very exciting times ahead..where are you building? Most the items we selected were included, the only things we upgraded from memory were waterfall edges and undermount sink for the island bench, rain shower head for the ensuite, added a buttlers pantry like in the display home. Other than that we were happy to stick to the standard inclusions for internals. We felt our money could be better spent on lighting/electrical which depending on what you want can cost a small fortune. That's a really good price. I was thinking of only doing the front of the house and the study but at that price I would pay the extra and get the whole house. Hopefully I will get similar quotes Our update - our plans/tender are in at head office so we have taken a break from planning the new house while we get our house ready to go on the market on Monday. The photos were taken today so its all happening. Won't be long and hubby, son and I will be moving in with my parents. I'm building the overture elite with some mods. We have just gone into construction, and woohoo about time. We started back in November. We almost gave up on Mastertons at one stage, we had our plans drawn 12 times due to countless errors, but glad we stuck in there. Mastertons Overture Elite @ Oran Park. 2012 Aug. Journey Begins Dec. In saying this, I am hopeless with technology so my partner does it for me. Ben+Lisa - welcome! Great to see yet another Overture builder. You have been lucky to have got to this stage in that time. We started our process back in June 2012 and like yourselves had errors (not our fault though) which by the time they rectified many times - six weeks had been wasted. We only had our slab laid in March but thankfully looks like we will be finished in 4 weeks. Who is your supervisor (just give first name and initial of last name) as I think it may be the same as ours. We are just down the road in another estate from you. I was told that we are one of the first to have it drawn, and that the master plan has now been altered to reflect the display (less the upgrade) due to us.
