The waiting game is so frustrating. Re: First Home builders with Fairmont Homes 104Sep 15, 2013 6:58 pm How is your site going? I have been thinking of you! Re: First Home builders with Fairmont Homes 105Sep 16, 2013 4:45 pm Hey FairmontSA! I've been meaning to post an update Good news is we received out bricks and frames by the end of last week! Now we're just waiting for them to finally make a start. They haven't done anything today, but really really hoping we will have a similar week to you last week and hope to have some frames up by the end of this week!! In the meantime I've been looking through magazines (and pinterest) to get some decorating ideas. Really cant wait to make the house into a home Re: First Home builders with Fairmont Homes 106Sep 16, 2013 7:47 pm Yay! They should be finished at ours tomorrow. Hopefully they will head to your place after Re: First Home builders with Fairmont Homes 107Sep 16, 2013 7:49 pm Fairmont_Build In the meantime I've been looking through magazines (and pinterest) to get some decorating ideas. Its such a time-waster Lucinda! My Father-in-law bought me a subscription to a home magazine for my birthday at the beginning of the year, so its been great getting this every month and dreaming/planning Re: First Home builders with Fairmont Homes 109Sep 16, 2013 9:43 pm What an awesome father in law. I also love home magazines, and my hubbie and I are big fans of any home tv show. I spoke to someone the other day who had the idea of a chopping board built into the benchtop that you can slide across with a bin built in underneath. How awesome is that!!! I am busy trying to satisfy my designer tastes surfing gumtree for second hand bargains Re: First Home builders with Fairmont Homes 110Sep 16, 2013 10:16 pm FairmontSAcustom What an awesome father in law. I am busy trying to satisfy my designer tastes surfing gumtree for second hand bargains Oh thats such a good idea!! I love looking on gumtree; I would love to get some pieces of furniture to restore and add my own individual touch to the home We love home shows too! Sometimes we feel like an old married couple because the only shows we tend to watch mostly are home and cooking shows..lol! What sort of design/style are you going for? Have you ever checked out Pinterest and Houzz? You can find so many ideas on here too Re: First Home builders with Fairmont Homes 111Sep 16, 2013 10:33 pm I have used houzz a bit. I am really into white gloss and timber so this has been my interior design brief. I love the furniture at Transforma and if I had the money I would decorate my entire house from there. We bought our huge solid timber custom designed table second hand from gumtree and we bought solid timber gates for our driveway too. Both cost significantly less than they would have new. I also bought a chandelier at an auction which was cheap too. I have my eye on a second hand hardly used sofa but the price is not right as yet. Hoping they may get back to us but I will keep scouring in the mean time. I got an ikea high chair for my son off the street the other day, bit of cleaning and as good as new. I love a good designer bargain! You should keep an eye on auction houses such as Scammels. They have weekly catalogues that they post online and often have cool vintage pieces needing some tlc. I can't believe how quickly they go up either. Bit like Lego, the bits just fit together. I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 109726 We did. Omni was very flexible in design changes. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process. The quality of the build visually (not an expert) was better… 1 17998 Hi All, we are starting to think of building with Masterpiece Builders in Victoria, has anyone had any feedback or experience with them 0 14474 |
