Air con all worked out. Found out the one we are getting is a very good one, whisper quiet! The spot on our plan where they had the big aircon vent was in the kitchen, on their plans was in the hall near our bedroom and a smoke alarm was there and it was too small a spot for the vent, and we need two anyway...so where do we want them? All done!
And of course I got to go in and have a good look to see things completed and in!
[ img ] [ img ] Seeing this get done means we have to do the soakwells at the garage and porch so we don't have to rip up paving later.
Kitchen tiles [ img ] Cooktop [ img ] [ img ] Laundry [ img ] Much prefer the way the feature tile is in this, then in the bathroom. Absolutely love the bigger tiles too...now i just wish I had them in the bathroom and ensuite! Nevermind!!! Once the grout is in I am sure they will look gorgeous!!!

It is an LG, refridgerated reverse cycle. Not sure of the model though. Guy told me that if we were to ring him and he supplied and installed it would be $15k. We got it for free, after heavy negotiation! So looks like we really did get a genuine deal!
The LED world website looks like that is where we will get our downlights from. Good pricing, free delivery and it is everything you need, don't need to add on. And same price for white or silver! Very happy with that! They are also dimmable at an extra $3. Just checking if they are ok in an alfresco area!
I think it is still about 5 weeks from key handover...wish it was sooner! I am really starting to hate renting! Brand new home and the exhaust fan cover fell down...lucky I wasn't on the toilet and just next to it, or bang on my head!

Aubingrove here are a couple of close ups of the bricks during bricking stage. [ img ] [ img ] [ img ]
I think they are lovely, another brick we were looking at (can't remember her name, it is a popular brick though) was too pinky...these are not pink at all, and i think they look beautiful with the darker roof. But I am bias!

Thanks, we were looking originally at 2c bricks (Geographe Limestone) but our builder said that we will have to pay over $2000 extra to go 2c instead of 1c, so we chose Cervantes. Looks great.

Hi Vans,
Who did you get your air con with? Did you end up paying 15K for it or less?

Meifong, we got it through Dale Alcock, and no we got it included in our base price, so we didn't pay anything for it! I didn't see the name of the company who was installing it, whoever Dales go through!

This pic shows the charcoal apricot on the right which we are using in the front part of the house, charcoal bronze which is being used at the back of the house is on the left, and the light bison in the middle, which was from another company, just to show the difference in colour. The charcoal apricot still looks a little red, but it isn't. [ img ]
Charcoal apricot and charcoal bronze together (on our tiles) [ img ] love the pavers, what is the name of them and the color? we are looking at pavers at the moment. Charcoal bronze and wall colour kitty grey on floor tiles. This will go in ensuite, study, main bedroom, dining/living/kitchen, laundry. For the main bed/dining/living they will be panel glides. laundry would be verticals. Everywhere else will be roller blinds (holland blinds). [ img ]
Near our front door, we have two awning windows. Two porch pillars partially block these windows, but I still think I need something there. so I am thinking of charcoal apricot in the light filter here. [ img ]
Two front bedroom windows which have the morning sun and views of the road...blockout charcoal apricot and light filter white linen [ img ] [ img ] [ img ]
This is just the charcoal apricot blockout which will go in the toilet/bathroom/bed 4 [ img ]
What do others do in their toilets/bathrooms? Do you have blinds/curtains/shutters or just leave them open? In our rental there are no window coverings, but I assume that is just the cheap way out of it. Our bathroom is a big window, and although eventually there will be a house next door, and of course a fence up, I don't like the window being uncovered allowing anyone to look over the fence. I know it is obscured glass, but you can still shadows, so don't like it. Our ensuite window is high, so no issues on perving, but I hate the light coming in during the morning, so thinking we need something in there if we leave our bathroom door open. But to not have blinds in those areas would save a bit of money, if it is not a necessity!

We have had a busy day today, with a loooong drive to Wangara to see blinds. so after seeing all the things this company has, and the prices of the panel glides, and all these other options, we are thinking of going with different things! Instead of rollers we are now thinking of going imitation wooden venetians in white which look really nice (not cheap like a lot of the fake ones!) and then rollers in the back area with some really nice colours. However the price is going up! Hubby not impressed with price, but is impressed with quality/colours/look. I am still a little unsure on venetians due to dusting them, but there are lots of reasons why they are good!
We popped over to house and tiler is there grouting and air con is all done and looks great. [ img ] [ img ] [ img ] Tiling is looking much better with grout and hoping I wont think about the bigger tiles too much!
We went to dr*vers for the first time and hooly dooly it is big! some awesome water features there at great prices and a really nice outdoor setting...might need to drive back up there!
Off to bunn!ngs very soon to get some soakwell stuff to start digging holes tomorrow. I am sure that will be fun!
