The timber external cladding is innowood expression cladding, shiplap profile in spotted gum. Doors are a mixture of solid and semi solid, and are semi gloss dulux domino. Re: Custom small lot - Brisbane. Internal works... 245Oct 10, 2015 2:49 pm Thanks for answering. Does the composite timber look 100% real from the ground? I've used composite before for a fence, great there's no maintenance but didn't look real. Also, what timber/vaneer is the kitchen cabinets? Re: Custom small lot - Brisbane. Internal works... 246Oct 12, 2015 11:24 am It doesn't look anything like a modwood or anything like that if that's what you mean. There is colour / texture variation on every board. You are never going to get 100% real look without using real timber though. If you choose a common timber colour - from the street I doubt you could tell (I can't). Sorry - missed your other question. Cabinets are polytek ravine finish natural oak. I haven't been able to get in for a few days as the guys were doing my floors / stairs, however managed to get in the garage to take a few pics of what I could. I used American Oak on the floors in a 190mm wide board / stairs matching and they are done in a commercial grade satin. Internal works... 247Oct 12, 2015 11:29 am Travisaus what on average does a pool cost? Re: Custom small lot - Brisbane. Internal works... 248Oct 12, 2015 11:39 am Hi Gablesrocks. Bit of a open ended question. What size / construction / features / in or out of the ground / disposal etc etc. I think you understand where I am coming from. For something like this pool, including tiling around it and a fence - there won't be much change from $48k. Re: Custom small lot - Brisbane. Internal works... 255Oct 13, 2015 11:48 pm Cracking work trav. Awesome Hey the floor you picked American oak... How hard wearing (janka wise) is that? Do you reckon it will hold up OK? Seriously love your work. Re: Custom small lot - Brisbane. Internal works... 256Oct 14, 2015 3:06 am travisaus It doesn't look anything like a modwood or anything like that if that's what you mean. There is colour / texture variation on every board. You are never going to get 100% real look without using real timber though. If you choose a common timber colour - from the street I doubt you could tell (I can't). Good to know. I've used real timber as a window screen on the upper floor, never again! As long as it looks real from say 3m it will be good enough for me. Hopefully won't be too much. Did the normal Carpenter install the cladding or someone else? Re: Custom small lot - Brisbane. Internal works... 257Oct 14, 2015 9:41 am I was always opposed to using timber too until I came across this product. The product is not cheap (around $15/lm) but you can also get it pre-coated with a sealer that protects the colour etc. Three coats will get you 5-6 years I think of minimal maintenance (depending on which way it faces as well). I am going past tomorrow so I can prob get some more detailed pics of it if you want. I had my normal carpenter install it on the fixings supplied by innowood. Cheers Chris! American Oak is a little bit soft tbh (I think it's a 6 on the Janka) compared to something like Blackbutt which I think is a 9 but the looks win over for me. Time will tell what it's like to live with - but we have no kids and have a shoes off in the house lifestyle so I am pretty sure I am not going to be doing too much damage to it. I'll give you an update after 3 months though if you want Re: Custom small lot - Brisbane. Internal works... 258Oct 14, 2015 12:30 pm $15/lm isn't cheap, I'm assuming that's for the 105mm width? So $15/lm includes the sealer? However, I wouldn't use more than say 20 to 30sqm of it, so it's not going to blow the budget. Yes, it would be awesome if I can get a more detailed photo. I'll use real timber under my portico, it's also cheaper, plus won't fade as it doesn't get direct sunlight. I also like American or European Oak.. I have kids would would destroy them... I used 180mm spotted gum boards in my previous house, even it was no match for my kids and their toys lol. Re: Custom small lot - Brisbane. Internal works... 260Oct 15, 2015 11:26 am Jb1 - that's an approx price.. but yes that does include sealer. Also - there is quite a long waiting time depending on the colour (up to 16 weeks) and minimum orders. You'd have to check that out though . Took this for you this morning so that's less than a meter away. Scaffold is up on the front so I can't take it from the street sorry. http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/ff371/travispegg/MA2/Innowood1_zpswtx12hra.jpg Took a few new pics this morning for you guys. Guys started on the tiling of the pool / alfresco / entry etc today too. Inside - main bathroom: Bath and mirror has been installed.
