Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Jul 31, 2020 7:01 pm Hi guys, We have new neighbours that have moved in next door! They have just erected a Bali Hut which looks like a monstrosity!! The roof must be hanging approx 150mm from our fence! They are on an elavated block and we are concerned about the stormwater running off their roof onto our property! We have a pool and a retaining wall that copped so much water during the bad storms we had that turned our pool Black! 😩 The previous owners built a deck and put a roof on with no guttering that just torrented down their path and straight onto our pool pump! The wall near the pool pumped is already so eroded and our retaining wall can’t take much more! I can’t believe our bad luck with neighbours, they have erected this huge Bali hut. I have attached a couple of photos. Do they need council approval for this we are on the Gold Coast? They are clearly responsible for their storm water. I just don’t know what so do!
