Hi all

Had PCI yesterday, inspector brought up a few issues.

Apparently tiles grouted\filled with silicon are supposed to be 3mm apart, but none of our tile work is.

I had a quick look on the building commission site, but where can I find the standards for these things?

The alfresco, garage and porch ceilings are all plasterboard (not blueboard) - inspector suggested that this will be a problem in the future as well, due to dampness. Any feedback?

There are certain types of plaster that is made for damp/wet areas such as bathrooms etc. it is usually a blue colour but I assume that yours is now painted. If this has been used in your area it will be fine for damp areas.

I agree with foc1 wet area plasterboard used for thise soffits will be fine.
Tile gaps are set by the thickness of the tile, consult your tile shop for more. The main problem is tile gaps that are too small. The trendy look of 1.5mm gaps gives the tiles no room for movement.
