Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Jul 05, 2020 9:59 am I've had my new front stairs totally rebuilt on my 1945 Queenslander. It has a landing halfway down, so it's set over 2 levels. It seems pretty good except the bottom stair is set at 257mm high and the risers on the lower level are all between 185mm and 190mm, so it's a bit of a step up from the ground. I've read the building code online and it seems that my stairs would not pass a building inspection when I sell it soon, so I am left having to pay someone to build a platform to bring it up to the standards. The builder cannot see a problem. I'm hoping someone can advise me. If I'm wrong, I'd be happy to know. Thank you in advance. I'm curious, did they provide any reason why they did not like the idea? 1 15360 What we have done in a few theatres ( including my own) is run 2 layers of 13mm gyprock, but sounds insulation especially for the bass is really tricky as a lot of that… 4 2860 |
