Re: Welcome to Qld 2May 01, 2010 1:38 pm G'day, I found this forum through some google searching, so thought I'd join, learn from others and contribute where possible. I am hoping to turn a 1 storey 3 bed 1.5 bath postwar investment property into a 2 storey 4 bed, 3 bath and 2 study house to live in. Have some concept plans I am reasonably happy with, but am now weighing up the costs of renovating vs removal and some other options. Mick. Re: Welcome to Qld 3May 01, 2010 2:23 pm I found the site whilst researching a custom builder which happened to be one of the blogs listed. Cheers Lou http://take2-customdesigndownslope.blogspot.com 07-10-09 omg they have cut the block 14-05-10 we finally have the keys Re: Welcome to Qld 5Dec 04, 2010 12:56 pm Hi All I live in Kamerunga, Cairns and have just finished 'sprucing up' my house for the market. It is my first home and am moving in with my partner of 3 years. We will then be renovating his house for the market, so I joined this forum to get ideas about how to build a kitchen that will match in with slate tiles. I have had a bit of a look around the kitchen threads and wow, they are some lovely ideas on here. Cheers Sam Re: Welcome to Qld 6Jan 18, 2011 8:47 pm Hey guys, I'm currently a student completing a diploma of interior design. I live on the north side of Brisbane and just hoping to gain a bit more knowledge and maybe share some! I also have a blog so go have a look Re: Welcome to Qld 7Feb 12, 2011 2:52 pm Hey people, I am currently on the sunshine coast and just stumbled upon this forum(thanks to google). Family Website(Power Tools): http://www.gettoolsdirect.com.au Re: Welcome to Qld 8Feb 13, 2011 10:51 pm Hi everyone . Awesome forum , I have been a guest for some time and I have enjoyed each and every thread I have read . Lived forever on the Sunny Coast . Have a reno from hell , house is near stripped bare now , I have been slowly doing this to bare its sins so to speak while waiting for the bank to smile my way , kids are passed caring , they just mumble to friends mum keeps doing stuff with that crowbar and all she talks about is VOC and low VOC paints . I feel confident and now I am in good company here at H1 . Cheers from Candles . Re: Welcome to Qld 9Feb 14, 2012 5:02 am Hi banana benders & everyone else. Around 18 mths ago we moved up to Qld from Melb. 12 mths ago we bought a very partially renovated 4 b/r house on the northern end of the Gold Coast. This is our forever home so we are doing a plenty of work to complete the renovation to our liking. I found this forum whilst researching some of the reno's we plan to do. Retail stores will often only tell you what they think you want to hear (& rubbish the opposition), so its great to be able to get so much information (& opinions) based on personal experience. Well it's in the council stage at the moment, which seems like the last big hurdle as there are a few things to worry about with our block, so that might be something I discuss on here. We found the site by googling the builder and house design name and found someone linking their blog which was also very interesting and helpful, we've started our own blog too in the same spirit. Re: Welcome to Qld 12Oct 28, 2012 5:38 pm Hello Everyone! I moved from overseas to Brissy northside few years ago, loved it and now after a year of spending all my weekends looking and failing to find an established home to buy, I now found myself with a land to settle next week and busy weekends going to different display homes for the build of my very first home. I found this site while web surfing looking for reviews and I am so glad I came across this forum. There are heaps of info that are valuable esp for a newbie like me. Kudos to all who are generously sharing their experience and insights.
