Our builder has left large gaps under our windows of about 25mm. The rubber flashing sits vertically, instead of horizontally, and behind the flashing you can see the silver sarking.
My builder says they've done this because previously when the windows have been installed with no gap it has somehow allowed back-flow of water. Doesn't make sense to me, and it seems like it would allow air ingress and have poor insulation.
Could anyone advise?
And, could anyone suggest a suitable rectification?
Photos attached.
Many Thanks.
