Hi,
We have a floor to waist height window [approx 90 x 90cm] that we want to replace with blueboard.
Can anyone provide any advise on the best way to do this and is it easy?
This is the first house we are renovating and I want the work to look good so any advise will be helpful.

Brick veneer or weatherboard?

Window is fastened to house frame through the reveals. Pull off architraves, cut nails between frame and reveals. Pull out window.

Fit battens to frame to extend to brickwork, and where you want the blueboard to fit. Fit blueboard on to battens. Silicone seal blueboard to brickwork - inside and outside.

Internally, frame the opening and finish with Gyprock...

Hi Ed,
Its a timber frame, just want to replace the glass with blueboard.
Its not a single window frame, it has 4 windows and door in middle [2 windows either side] so can not remove the frame.
Was thinking of pulling the glass out, gluing the bluebaord in with silicone and putting small frame around it to hold it firm in place.
Not sure how that would look but kitchen cupboard will end up in front of most of the window / blueboard, except for a small gap on the side where we need to put a small dog door in [which just adds more problems to the change]

You can do as you say, if you want the door to operate it will need some skill to keep the door true. But if it is already glazed, why not just cover the glass in obscure film, or paint it internally?
