I've just gotten advice from a friend that it might be worth getting the builder to draw the detail around how they propose to execute it, apparently some builders might charge $100 extra to draw, but worth every dollar to ensure it's spot on. Hi MyH1 We are having it similar to how PAB shows it in that picture. It is flush with the internal floor but the external floor will be slightly lower. The reason we decided to do this rather than have it flush was our experience with our current rental garage door! The garage is flush with the driveway and it just constantly gets dirt and dust and leaves blowing into it (our old house had a very small ledge into garage, amazing what a difference it makes). So we purposefully want our alfresco floor a little lower. I don't want to be sweeping dust and dirt everytime I open our alfresco stacker doors. A little drop in floor level (and I;m only talking a few centimetres)will keep that stuff out but we still won't have a sill to "step over" as such. Anyhoo, just my two cents.
