Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Feb 21, 2013 8:48 am Hi, my partner and I are in the process of purchasing a 2 year old home. When we move in we are thinking of making some changes to the Bathroom & laundry colours etc We were just wanting to change the splashbacks & shower wall tiles to a more neutral colour (currently a yellowish brown), replace laminated benches with ceasarstone. There is currently a feature tile in the shower which we will keep and we are keeping the floor tiles. We have a ensuite, main bathroom & a powder room. We are also wanting to change the splashback in the laundry to match. But we are leaving the cabinets/ vanitys as they are. I have also created a topic for the kitchen that we are making changes to http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=63103. But we will most likey be keep wall tiles the same throughout the whole house. Please share you experiences and a estimate cost would be a big help to. Re: Estimated cost for bathroom & laundry modifications 2Feb 21, 2013 10:27 am Is your house timber, brick veneer or double brick ? If it is timber framed with villaboard inside the bathrooms you probably won't get the tiles off the walls without destroying the wall sheeting and therefore also the waterproofing. You will end up re-doing the whole bathroom as a consequence. If your walls are double brick then you stand a much better chance of taking just the wall tiles off ( maybe a bit of sand/cement render too but that is easier to fix ). Not sure if you could or would but have you looked into having the tiles resprayed, could be an option?
