I suspect water is trapped in the frame, rising up to the screw fixing the frame and then making an exit. Cut away some of the caulk from inside (just the inside) of the shower at the bottom corner and see if water dribbles out. Ed Hey ed, Here's a wider view : Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The shower head just got cropped off the frame. It's just above the mirror tile in the tub (if that makes sense). Not too sure if the stain were there when I bought the place though. 2) The stain is only on the outer side of the shower frame. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 3) Nope, no screws. The stain seem to have lighten when the previous tenant hired a pro cleaner to clean the place when they were vacating the apartment. Do you think I should get a plumber in to inspect? Thanks, Ed. Cheers, Lynn Signed: June 2010 | Settlement: September 2010 | Moved in: October 2010 Re: Water mark on marble wall in bathroom? - Advice needed! 8Sep 19, 2010 11:47 am It's a stain so unless it's growing (or damp), I don't think you need a plumber, it's very hard to treat if you don't know the cause. Is it rust? There may be a screw behind the shower frame or a nail behind the tile which is either rusty or corroding because it is not stainless. If you think rust is possible, I would buy some rust remover, test it in a small area away from view and if it does no damage, try it on a small part of the stain. Ed Any other ideas anyone...???
