But I'm having a problem because I can't screw on the new spout far enough to make contact with the wall - there's a gap of about 1-2 mm. I can screw it a bit further than this to get it closer but this means that it doesn't end up pointing down into the bath. I have a few questions: 1) Is it a problem if there is a small gap? If so, is there something I can do to prevent any problems? 2) Is there a way to get the spout to screw on further? I think part of the problem is that the thread I'm screwing on to has build-up at one end which increases friction and makes it harder to screw on. I've brushed a lot of this away which has helped tremendously. Any thoughts would be great thank you.
