Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Aug 10, 2016 1:05 am Hey Whirlpool, Hoping someone can give me some advice on how to resolve an issue with a bathroom renovation company. We paid for a full renovation of our ensuite, but the process was fraught with problems. The main issue related to poor supervision of the tilers work by the project supervisor. We have had most of the errors rectified [including pointing out they had built a wall 10 cm too far to one side] however we are now left with a large number of feature tiles that have got hardened grout/cement smeared across them. These tiles are expensive and have a decorative pattern in which the grout is no stuck. After a few complaints and phone calls they have finally come out to try and problem solve. After being unable to remove the grout with acids they have suggested that the tiler will just tile over the current tiles with a new set of tiles. This would avoid having to pull down the current tiles and potentially damage the wall and have to waterproof it again. Tiling over the tiles sounds like a bad idea and will reduce the space of the shower and throw off the symmetry of the tap/showerhead placement. Any advice or feedback about how to approach this? IS it better just to tile over or should we demand they pull the current tiles down themselves. Have had a few issues with out recently done bathroom floor.
