Hi, I've got a Braemar ducted gas heater TE/TX
last year I replaced the gas solenoid because the pilot wasn't lighting, and it worked fine all winter.
(the service tech I got out said the valves are over $500 and that's if you can even find them.. I found one at tradelink for $120!)
anyways, this year I've got a new issue, the pilot is lighting and the main burner ignites but the fan doesn't spin up. the fan works because in cooler mode it spins.

I'm assuming it's not sensing the flame for some reason?
On the circuit diagram in the box, there is a flame detector module. (looks like an old wet film canister with a pipe coming out of it) anyone know how these work?
I have to go back in the roof and look for a thermal couple, or anything else that could be damaged..

anyone have ideas?

Thanks
Mick

Is the thermister cable the one that comes out of the box and into the ducting about a metre out? How does this stop the fan from starting?
Had a bit of a probe around again (didn't see this message before going up, so didn't check the thermister)
I went up to check the thermocoupe, which looked clean and the flame isn't cutting out,so that sensing ptoperly, also checked the thermo sensors, 2 in series on the power line and one that plugs directly into the pcb, they all were closed so that's good

Back to the tehrmister, on the PCB led J4 was lit, it says this is the fault code for overheating, if its broken could it be telling the unit the air in the duct is too hot?

Thanks for your help

I've removed the thermister, there is no damage on the cable,
it's reading 5Kohm in a cold shed and it got to 3Kohm while holding it, are these values in the correct range??
