Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Dec 03, 2022 9:43 pm Hi all, im looking for some ideas to clad the ceiling of an old 1930's warehouse. The timber rafters are spaced at 900mm and support an old asbestos roof, so i am concerned about adding extra weight based on what i clad with. The main focus is to hopefully add something light, that can span 900mm widths (not require more batten installation), and also to add some insulation. Lastly i wouldnt mind it having a decent finish so the idea of simply using aircell isnt ideal. The problem with most panels is if they are light they require minimum 600mm spacing, and if they can do 900mm spacing (like cool room panels or durra panel) they are too heavy per square metre. Ultimately something that weighs under 5kg per sq.m and can span 900 spacing with a decent underside finish (or is paintable) is what im after. Essentially because i simply want to screw thru the existing silver foil without disturbing it & directly in the rafters. any ideas?
