It's called "Central Heating" and has been around for YEARS. Re: Where can I buy gas hydronic parts for DIY? 3Jun 14, 2012 9:55 pm Thought of that but shipping is the major issue. I couldn't locate an agent who would ship plus I would buy the boiler here for warranty... If you know of an international agent who ships let me know! Thanks Re: Where can I buy gas hydronic parts for DIY? 4Jun 14, 2012 10:02 pm sorry! I think it's pretty new over here, so I wouldn't imagine that 2nd hand systems would be popular. Maybe you could contact small plumbing businesses overseas and see if they are able to buy something and ship it for you, otherwise you could possibly organise the shipping through a shipping agent (susually used for moving people and their belongings overseas?) Re: Where can I buy gas hydronic parts for DIY? 5Jun 17, 2012 12:00 am I think as utility prices rise these forms of heating will become more common? We are slowly catching on to Greener housing etc... With that said we don't get the harsh weather, or atleast not in Adelaide. I found a few hydronic sellers interstate so will quiz them. At minimum I would want floor heating (via tubes in the slab for boiler or solar hot water) Cheers Re: Where can I buy gas hydronic parts for DIY? 7Aug 03, 2012 7:06 pm There are plenty of suppliers of "underfloor" heating systems in the UK and if you send them plans they will design the pipe layout and manifold setup for you as a DIY kit (or you could get your plumber to fit). We used Continental UFH for our self build here in the UK and love our warm floors in the winter - our lounge has carpet with a special underlay to let the heat through. We have the pipes clipped to 75mm PU insulation batts then 75mm on screed over that but there are panel systems you can lay on top of your slab which have a faster response. Not sure how much they would charge for shipping to Oz though. Yep underfloor heating in the UK or the rest of Europe very standard. Very competitive in pricing. Simply log onto ebay and should see a few things you can get. You will have to weigh up warranty, stuff ups etc with the price. I did my own house because of lack of plumbers in the area and pricing. Anyway you will need to get an understanding of what you want and what is possible. I bought a book which was a bit too involved but cheap insurance, I though. I know and dealt a guy in Canberra, Solar Satisfaction who seems rather knowledgeable on the subject matter. Is happy to help DIY and sell stuff, although he does seems swamped with work. Good luck Pulpo I need to replace some lengths of aluminum shower frame but I can't seem to find any suppliers of this stuff. Neither the blue or orange home centers carry these things.… 0 5718 Currently renovating, and our main lounge is 5m x 10m, with a cathedral roof peaking at 6.5m high. Currently have tiles on concrete slab. Room is very hard to heat. I am… 0 5407 Does anyone have a suggestion for a good hydronic in slab heating speacialist who may be able to help me with an existing system and wether or not it may need a seperator… 0 5516 |
