TIA Re: air con - plastic vs metal / ductair vs polyair 2Feb 15, 2012 11:38 am metal are always better as there is less friction. In fact ideally the use of flexible ducts should be replaced with sheet metal. However this doesn't get done here in Australia. Plastic is better because it is cheaper. Metal is better however used on there own I am not convinced. If you told me that the whole system will be sheet metal then thats a different story. What system are you running through this. How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents? And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 6558 Hi all, sorting out the ducted air con for a 350sqm double story house.
