I need to build two tiered block retaining walls. Both will be 1 m and stepping down to 600mm. The question i have is that do I need concrete footings or compacted crushed rock footing will do the job. The soil type is hard clay. |

Compacted crushed rock should be fine. Most block makers provide downloadable design and installation guides. For example Boral products are at this link http://www.boral.com.au/retainingwalls/ ... gwalls.asp |
