We have been in a home since January and it has come time to turn our efforts towards the outside.

We have recently had our retaining wall installed after we moved in it became apparent we needed a retaining wall which would span the entire width of the block to keep the back yard in. Below are some photos from just after the retaining wall was built.

We have moved our attention to the decking which has come up fantastic and saved a packet by doing it ourselves

Wall is 25 meters long and 1.2 high. Have not given much thought to plants want to lay grass in the paddock and have a garden bed around the outside.

Wow. Very impressive. You'd never know it was a DIY job. ::

I particularly love the retaining wall (deck is great of course!). I love the retaining wall bricks and the stairs.

I did 69sqm of Merbau Decking 90mm recently for $4200.

$57 per sqm.

Tradie quotes ranged from $200 to $230 per sqm.

The wall worked out to roughly $300 per meter. We were getting quotes of around $250 for the same size wall in timber but bit the bullet and went the AB Blocks which we are so happy with.
