We are in melbourne and the wife loves the look of these small models for outside the kitchen window splashbacks. Now, not knowing much about these types, what is the upkeep on them? i heard the leaves can go brown or look dead sometimes. How do they grow in melbourne and can we keep them from getting too big (want to keep them around the 2mt mark.

Travellers palms grow HUGE -to 10 metres- and are very very messy!! They are actually not true palms but belong to strelitzia family. I don't know if they would grow that huge in Melbourne but having said that, they are probably not suited to the climate there...I would think again. And some.
