Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Dec 15, 2011 9:50 am Hi Guys, Our house will should be completed early Feb 2012 and i thought now or early in the new year would be a good time to start getting some quotes ... Now we are on a corner block, so the street side requires a fancy fence with piers and whatever else, but the other side and rear require timber capped and lapped fencing . One side is 30m long x 1.8m high and the rear is 16m long x 1.8m high Any rough idea on costs? Also how do i go about getting the neighbours to pay for half. At the moment they haven't even started to build yet... Any advice would be greatly appreciated . Thanks Re: Timber capped and lapped fencing costs 2Dec 15, 2011 10:00 am My fencing (about 18 months ago) was $55 per metre for treated pine, capped, 1.8 metre fences. I live in regional Victoria. The fencer will usually be able to help you out with contacting the neighbours (most fencers will simply bill each of you for half of the cost) or alternately you can get your neighbour's contact details from the local council. I think it's always nice to make the first contact with people yourself if you can; even if only to have a proper introduction. Do a search on this forum for "fencing" if you need more info. Hi all, Our boundary perimeter fences need replacing (3 sides). From everyone's experience, what would you install? Timber lapped and capped OR colorbond? Thank you. 0 2893 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15924 Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering. Builder is quoting 2500$ laying cost for upto 10msq. The 2 pillars come to be 16msq. So laying costs are 5000$… 0 7554 |
