It depends where you are. In many places in Aus, I know for sure in Melbourne, lots of places are cracking because of the drought. The soil has lost a great deal of moisture and has started to shrink, causing movement, causing cracking in houses. There's not a great deal you can do about it, except wait for rain. Not much point in repairing it at the moment as it will just crack again.
