When I had the windows installed the builder took them out to get equipment in and out of the windows easily. the builder left without putting them back in and he is long gone. I have tried and tried to the point of exhaustion to try and get them in but they cant be put in without taking out the metal stabilizing bar in the middle... I cant get the the metal bar back in with the screen there and vice versa. If the windows came with the screens in then they must fit back somehow? I dont know where that builder even bought them from... Re: putting flyscreens back in the window 2Feb 09, 2010 11:45 am Yes they are tricky to remove/get back in. With the sliding windows we've had in three houses, you have to lift out the sliding pane, then slot in the flyscreen, then replace the window pane. It's a bit of a PAIN ( pun intended....) but not difficult. You do it all from indoors, BTW. Re: putting flyscreens back in the window 7Feb 12, 2010 11:06 am thanks buzz and kek...I've tried and tried...tried sliding the window out (makes no difference) the only way I can get it in is if I take the metal bar in the middle (held in by screws) out. Then I cant get the metal bar back in. Its just un-doable by the unskilled operator. I give up, just have to have flies and mozzies DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Are you doing this with a building permit?
