Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Nov 03, 2017 2:20 pm We've had to install a stormwater pit with a granny flat build. Unfortunately it's located right next to our alfresco. I've noticed that it's full of water and that we've had an increase in the number of mozzies since its install - they're bl***y huge Can anything be done about the stagnant water/mozzie situation ? Any solutions ? Thanks everyone Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: Stormwater pits and mozzies 2Nov 03, 2017 8:57 pm You could put a little concrete in the bottom of the pit to raise it flush with outlet pipe, that way you will avoid pit holding water however the pit won't function as a silt /rubbish trap. Re: Stormwater pits and mozzies 8Nov 27, 2017 10:25 am Yes, that will work for a short time but the mesh may block really quickly with probability of SW pit overflow and other damage Foremost Building Expert in Australia, assisting with building problems/disputes, building stage inspections,pre-contract review advice for peace of mind 200 blogs http://www.buildingexpert.net.au/blog Grab a hose, insert it at the top of the inlet/down pipe and turn the water on and see where the water is escaping from.
