Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Mar 10, 2013 7:32 pm We purchased a kit form pizza oven from elite pizza ovens and have finally got around to building it! We've built the base as suggested and then chose a 20mm bluestone benchtop. What we hadn't checked is whether the pizza oven can be built on top of the benchtop?? We've got the required concrete slab under the bluestone so weight isn't the issue...just wondering whether the heat from the pizza oven will crack the bluestone?? the oven would sit on the foil and heat pavers supplied.... thoughts anyone??? Re: Building a pizza oven - bluestone base 3Aug 22, 2013 9:37 am Without being rude .... do people who buy these things really use them much - after the first 6 months ? I know people who have them - but stopped using them after a while. Or maybe once a month - if that. Re: Building a pizza oven - bluestone base 4Sep 28, 2016 11:37 am Hi megantempleton, Was just wondering how you went with your bluestone bench top. Have you had any trouble with the heat from the pizza oven? and what sort of blue stone did you use? I would like to do the same as you have and put the oven on top of a blue stone bench. Would appreciate your comments.
